GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Lourdes University volleyball faced a tall task Friday night on the road, falling in three sets to Aquinas (25-9, 25-11, 25-20) inside Sturrus Center in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play.
Senior
Rachel Allison led the Gray Wolves with seven kills, while senior
Jolie Sobb added six kills, six digs, and one ace. Freshman
Teliya Cole contributed four kills, a solo block, and a block assist, and sophomore
Aleya Baptiste added two kills and four digs.
Setters
Zoe Schuele and
Rania Pavlidi combined for 18 assists, while Schuele added six digs and a kill. Senior
Arleena Willer collected five digs in the back row, and
Emma Coffey added one.
Lourdes totaled 22 kills and 26 digs, finishing with 2.0 team blocks. The Gray Wolves' strongest stretch came in the third set, where they hit .139 and battled point-for-point midway through before Aquinas closed on a late run.
The loss drops Lourdes to 6-16 overall and 2-14 in WHAC play, while Aquinas improves to 24-5 (15-0 WHAC).
