WILBERFORCE, Ohio — Lourdes University men's basketball used a decisive second-half run to pull away from Wilberforce University, earning an 86-74 road victory Wednesday night to stay perfect on the season.
After trailing 39-37 at the break, the Gray Wolves (3-0) shot 58.1 percent from the field in the second half to outscore the Bulldogs 49-35 and secure their third straight win to open the 2025-26 campaign.
Sophomore guard
Derek Fairley (Cleveland, Ohio/Lutheran West) led all scorers with 24 points, adding three steals, three rebounds, and two assists while converting all eight of his free throws. Senior forward
Adonus Abrams (Columbus, Ohio/Harvest Prep) posted his first double-double of the season with 19 points and nine rebounds, shooting 7-of-12 from the field.
Senior
Dasan Doucet (Kettering, Ohio/Fairmont) scored 14 points and knocked down a pair of three-pointers, while
Charlie Wood (Swanton, Ohio/Swanton) provided a lift in the paint with 10 points and six rebounds. Freshman
J'Siah Jefferson (Rockford, Ill./Toledo Start) added seven points and eight rebounds off the bench.
Lourdes overcame a slow start, trailing by as many as seven in the first half, before erupting offensively after halftime. The Gray Wolves connected on 18-of-31 shots (58.1%) in the final 20 minutes, including 4-of-10 from beyond the arc, while holding the Bulldogs to 42.4 percent shooting and zero made threes in the second half.
Daiquan Coach paced Wilberforce (2-2) with 23 points and five rebounds.
The victory capped Lourdes' third consecutive double-digit win to start the season. The Gray Wolves will return home on Saturday, Nov. 15, to host Shawnee State University at 3 p.m. inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
