SYLVANIA, Ohio – Lourdes University women's basketball opened the 2025-26 campaign in dominant fashion Saturday evening, rolling past Adrian College 88-53 inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
The Gray Wolves (1-0) jumped out to a commanding 20-6 lead after the opening quarter and never looked back, shooting nearly 50% from the floor while holding Adrian (0-1) to just 31.6% for the game.
Senior
Emma Pedroza (Napoleon, Ohio) led the way with 18 points, seven assists, and eight rebounds, running the Lourdes offense with confidence. Fellow senior
Oliwia Dyja (Sosnowiec, Poland) added a double-double, posting 15 points and 12 rebounds, including three three-pointers.
Kaylona Butler (Toledo, Ohio) chipped in 19 points, knocking down all five of her free throws, while NaKiya Sigman (Lima, Ohio) contributed 10 points and five assists off the bench.
Lourdes outscored the Bulldogs 48-20 in the paint and dominated the glass with a 48-37 rebounding edge. The Gray Wolves also capitalized on 20 Adrian turnovers, converting them into 24 points off turnovers.
Senior
Tamyah Worthy (Toledo, Ohio) added seven points, four steals, and three rebounds, while
Camryn Ivy (Woodmore, Ohio) tallied eight points, five rebounds, and a block in the win.
Adrian was led by Morgan Babb's 12 points, while Aubrie Ickes and Ashlyn Moorehead each scored nine.
Lourdes will now hit the road for the first time this season, traveling to face Indiana University Kokomo next Saturday, November 8. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
