Fairley Drops 32 as Lourdes Handles Cornerstone for First WHAC Win

Gray Wolves shoot 58 percent from the floor and never trail in dominant 88–78 victory.

SYLVANIA, Ohio — Lourdes University bounced back in a big way Saturday, defeating Cornerstone University 88–78 in a wire-to-wire victory inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center. Sophomore guard Derek Fairley (Cleveland, Ohio) was electric, scoring 32 points on 12-of-17 shooting, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc and a perfect 5-of-5 at the free-throw line. Fairley also added five rebounds and a steal in 37 minutes.

Senior center Charlie Wood (Swanton, Ohio) delivered his strongest performance of the season, finishing with 18 points, five rebounds, and 9-of-12 shooting. Wood set the tone early, scoring 10 first-half points as Lourdes built a 48–35 halftime advantage.
