Emma Pedroza (Napoleon, Ohio / Napoleon HS) and junior
Kaylona Butler (Toledo, Ohio / Toledo Christian HS) combined for 58 points as Lourdes University women's basketball stayed perfect on the season, defeating Cornerstone University 80–64 on Saturday afternoon inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
Pedroza delivered a dominant 30-point, 8-rebound, 3-steal performance, while Butler poured in 28 points, going 10-of-12 from the free throw line and adding two assists. The Gray Wolves (5–0, 2–0 WHAC) used a decisive second quarter to take control, outscoring the Golden Eagles 25–16 to lead 43–35 at halftime.
Senior
Camryn Ivy (Woodmore, Ohio / Woodmore HS) added 5 points and 10 rebounds, while
Oliwia Dyja (Sosnowiec, Poland) grabbed 9 boards and contributed 6 points.
Tamyah Worthy (Toledo, Ohio / Start HS) added 4 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals, and NaKiya Sigman (Lima, Ohio / Lima Senior HS) chipped in 6 points off the bench.
Lourdes shot 42.9% from the floor and scored 14 points off turnovers, committing just nine giveaways as a team. The Gray Wolves held Cornerstone to 39.3% shooting and forced 21 turnovers, pulling away late with a 16–7 fourth quarter run.
Cornerstone (2–4, 0–2 WHAC) was led by Julie Ashbaugh's 22 points and 8 rebounds, while Jaxi Long added 15.
The win marks Lourdes' best start in program history, as the Gray Wolves remain unbeaten heading into Thanksgiving week. Lourdes returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 25, traveling to face Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Mich., with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m.
