DEFIANCE, Ohio — Lourdes women's basketball delivered its strongest offensive performance of the season on Wednesday night, erupting for 100 points and cruising past Defiance 100–47 inside the Karl H. Weaner Center. The Gray Wolves remain undefeated, improving to 7–0 overall and 4–0 in WHAC play.
Lourdes raced out to a 31–8 first-quarter lead, fueled by five three-pointers and stifling defense that forced seven early turnovers. The momentum carried throughout the night as the Gray Wolves shot 50.7% from the floor, knocked down 11 threes, and forced 27 Defiance turnovers, converting them into 36 points.
Junior Kaylona Butler (Toledo, Ohio / Toledo Christian) led all scorers with 32 points in just 24 minutes, going 11-for-19 from the field with four threes and adding six steals. She scored 14 points in the third quarter alone as Lourdes pushed the lead over 40.
Senior Emma Pedroza (Napoleon, Ohio) added 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists, shooting 8-of-20 from the floor and controlling the pace on the perimeter. Fellow senior Tamyah Worthy (Toledo, Ohio / Start HS) delivered one of the most complete performances of the night with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals.
Lourdes showcased its depth as well, with all 12 players scoring.
- Oliwia Dyja (Sosnowiec, Poland) hit a pair of threes on her way to 8 points and 4 boards.
- Ashley Zawisza (North Royalton, Ohio) added 4 points, 3 rebounds, a block, and a steal.
- NaKiya Sigman (Toledo, Ohio) knocked down two threes for 6 points.
- Defensively, the Gray Wolves dominated the boards (53–43) and recorded 15 steals, holding the Yellow Jackets to just 21.7% shooting and 1-for-11 from beyond the arc.
Lourdes will look to stay unbeaten on Saturday, December 6, when the Gray Wolves return home to host the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
