Gray Wolves Held to 8.7% from Three-Point Range in Home Setback

SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University women's basketball team was unable to overcome a tough shooting night on Wednesday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves fell 66-56 to Cleary University inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

Despite a strong first quarter that saw Lourdes jump out to a 16-9 lead, Cleary responded with a dominant second period, outscoring the Gray Wolves 23-16 to take a halftime advantage. Lourdes remained within striking distance throughout the second half but could not capitalize offensively, shooting just 8.7% (2-of-23) from three-point range and 50% (6-of-12) from the free-throw line.

Macie Stringfellow led the way for Lourdes with a double-double, scoring a game-high 21 points while pulling down 13 rebounds. Tamyah Worthy added 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting, while Emma Pedroza tallied 8 points and 11 rebounds. Nadeen Jemaa and Grace Ryan chipped in six and five points, respectively.

Lourdes held a 48-45 rebounding advantage and scored 34 points in the paint, but Cleary capitalized on second-chance opportunities and three-point shooting, hitting seven triples to Lourdes' two.
