SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University women's basketball team pushed the top team in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference to the limit on Saturday, taking Indiana Tech University to double overtime before coming up just short, 68-64, inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
After trailing by 14 in the second quarter, the Gray Wolves battled back in the second half, outscoring the Warriors 31-22 after halftime to force overtime. Lourdes briefly held the lead late in regulation, but Indiana Tech answered to extend the game.
Macie Stringfellow led Lourdes with a double-double, finishing with 20 points and 16 rebounds, while Nadeen Jemaa added 15 points. Emma Pedroza also notched a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards. The Gray Wolves dominated the glass, holding a 52-41 rebounding edge.
The Warriors capitalized at the free-throw line in the second overtime, going 8-of-10 to close out the win.
Additionally, the Gray Wolves played its first overtime game of the 2024-25 season. The last time the team headed into extra time was on Nov. 21, 2023, in a 99-90 OT loss to Ohio Christian at home.
