Pedroza’s Career Night Leads Lourdes Past Ohio Christian

Junior Emma Pedroza drops career-high 33 points as Gray Wolves secure 82-74 road win.

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University women's basketball team picked up an out-of-conference road win on Tuesday evening, defeating Ohio Christian University 82-74 at the Maxwell Center behind a career night from Emma Pedroza.

Pedroza led all scorers with a career-high 33 points, marking her first 30-point performance as a Gray Wolf. She surpassed her previous career best of 25 points set earlier this season, setting new personal highs in field goals made (12) and three-pointers made (4) along the way.

The Gray Wolves found themselves trailing 21-17 after the opening quarter before responding with a strong second frame, outscoring the Trailblazers 20-15 to take a halftime lead. Lourdes pulled away in the third, posting 25 points while holding Ohio Christian to just 16.

Macie Stringfellow added 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for a double-double, while Tamyah Worthy and Grace Ryan each contributed nine points. Lourdes shot 45.9% from the floor and connected on 8-of-18 from beyond the arc.

Defensively, the Gray Wolves forced 17 turnovers, converting them into 21 points, and held Ohio Christian to just 28.6% shooting from three-point range.

Lourdes (18-9) returns to WHAC play following the non-conference victory, sitting at 12-7 in league action with one game remaining in the regular season. The women's team will close out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 22, traveling to face Concordia University for a 1 pm tip. The Gray Wolves are currently in position for a top-six seed in the WHAC Tournament, looking to secure home-court advantage in the opening round.
