Preview: Men's and Women's Bowling Prepare for WHAC Championship

JACKSON, Mich. (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University men's and women's bowling teams are set to participate in the upcoming Wolverin-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championships scheduled for Saturday, February 22nd, with qualifying play starting at 8:00 a.m. and match play beginning at approximately 1:00 p.m. following a re-oil session. A coaches' meeting will take place at 7:30 a.m., and teams will begin practice at 7:45 a.m.

The tournament format will consist of 15 Baker games for each team, divided into three sets of five games with lane moves between each set. The top six Varsity teams will advance to match play in a best-of-five single elimination format for the first two rounds, with the championship match being a best-of-seven series. The top four JV teams will advance, with the semifinal rounds being best-of-five and the championship match being best-of-seven.

Awards will be distributed to teams individually as they finish the tournament. If time allows, a formal presentation may be held for individual award winners, including Bowler of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Regular Season Champions.

As the regular season comes to a close, the following highlights emphasize the standout performances and achievements of the Men's and Women's Bowling teams this year.

As a team, the best performance of the season for both the Men's and Women's Bowling teams came at the AHBA Roseland Lanes Collegiate Open, where both squads secured second-place finishes. The standout individual performance came from men's bowler Dallas Allen, who placed third overall at the event.

One athlete to highlight is Reece Kramer, who earned WHAC Bowler of the Week honors on November 16, 2024, for his outstanding performance at the BGSU Falcon Classic. Kramer claimed first place overall with a four-game total of 1,037 pins, posting scores of 279, 267, 212, and 279. His remarkable skill and consistency secured him the prestigious weekly award.

Delayna Harvey recently earned WHAC Bowler of the Week honors for her performance at the AHBA Roseland Lanes Collegiate Open on February 8, 2025. She placed seventh individually, knocking down a total of 743 pins across four games for an average of 185.5 per game. Harvey played a key role in helping the team secure a second-place finish at the tournament.

With regular season play over, both teams prepare for the WHAC championships where they will showcase their abilities and skills as they represent Lourdes University.
