BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University women's wrestling team competed at the NAIA Mid-South Conference Championship on Friday, February 28th, finishing in sixth place as a team with 34 points. The Gray Wolves had four wrestlers place in their respective weight classes, highlighted by a runner-up finish from
Stefana Jelacic at 110 pounds.
Jelacic advanced to the 110-pound championship match, where she battled top-seeded and undefeated Anaya Falcon of Life University. In a tightly contested bout, Jelacic fell by criteria in a 4-4 decision, finishing as the conference runner-up.
At 180 pounds, Lourdes had two placers, as Payton Curley and Anessa Morgan faced off in the seventh-place match. Curley emerged victorious, pinning Morgan in 1:36 to claim seventh place.
Allie Phillips secured a third-place finish at 207 pounds. After reaching the consolation finals, she earned a victory by injury default over Lindsey Wilson's Hayeni Costa to take third place in the bracket.
