SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University men's volleyball team put up a strong fight in the opening set but ultimately fell in straight sets to No. 3-ranked Lawrence Tech University on Tuesday evening inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center. The Blue Devils remain unbeaten on the season, securing a 36-34, 25-13, 25-19 victory in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action.

The Gray Wolves (5-7, 3-4 WHAC) came out strong, forcing extra points in the first set, with Vinicius Lopez and Jaber Badarne leading the offensive effort with 10 kills each. Despite Lourdes' early momentum, Lawrence Tech (9-0, 5-0 WHAC) capitalized on key points late, edging out the Gray Wolves in the marathon first frame before taking control of the match.

Lourdes struggled offensively after the opening set, finishing the night with a .063 hitting percentage while Lawrence Tech hit .269 as a team. The Blue Devils dominated the second set with a .619 clip and maintained their efficiency to close out the match.

Defensively, Brayden Moyars led Lourdes with 10 digs, while Joey Bianco dished out 28 assists. Trace Bauersfeld and Badarne each recorded four blocks at the net.
