Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (LourdesAthletics.com) – The Lourdes University men's volleyball team put together an efficient offensive performance Friday night, sweeping Aquinas College 25-23, 25-16, 25-22 in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup on the road.
The Gray Wolves (6-7, 4-4 WHAC) hit .333 as a team, committing just 12 attack errors, while holding Aquinas (5-12, 1-7 WHAC) to a .268 clip. Lourdes set the tone early, posting a .483 hitting percentage in the opening set and maintaining control throughout the match.
Vinicius Lopez led the way offensively with 11 kills, while Felipe Tramontin and Jaber Badarne each added eight. Lopez has led Lourdes offensively in each of the last three matches, recording 25 kills against Siena Heights, 10 versus Lawrence Tech, and 11 in the win over Aquinas.
Joey Bianco dished out 17 assists, with Daniel Nascimento contributing 13 as the Gray Wolves spread the offensive load. Defensively, Brayden Moyars recorded a match-high 10 digs, while Ben Palma led the net defense with three blocks.
Lourdes' aggressive serving also played a key role, tallying nine aces, including two each from Bianco, Tramontin, and Trace Bauersfeld.
