SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) – The Lourdes University men's volleyball team remained red-hot on Friday night, picking up its fourth consecutive Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference victory with a commanding 25-16, 25-21, 25-19 sweep of Aquinas College inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
The Gray Wolves (14-9, 9-5 WHAC) were efficient on both sides of the net, hitting .352 as a team while limiting the Saints to just a .118 clip offensively. Vinicius Lopes led the attack with 15 kills on a .500 hitting percentage and added six digs in a standout all-around effort.
Jaber Badarne contributed eight kills and three service aces to go along with a match-best four blocks, while Mitch Hoffman posted five kills, three blocks, and an ace. Jack McMurray also recorded an ace for the Gray Wolves.
Joey Bianco dished out 34 assists and collected six digs, while Brayden Moyars anchored the back row with a match-high 13 digs.
Lourdes set the tone early with a .387 hitting mark in the opening set, committing just three errors on 31 swings. The Gray Wolves continued to control the net in the final two sets, finishing the night with a 7-4 edge in service aces and a 7-6 advantage in blocks.
