Gray Wolves Drop WHAC Opener at Northwestern Ohio

Allison leads Lourdes with 10 kills; Schuele adds 22 assists and 11 digs in Lima setback

Lourdes University opened Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night but came up short in a three-set loss to Northwestern Ohio (25-16, 25-18, 25-14).

Senior Rachel Allison paced the Gray Wolves with 10 kills on 25 swings, while sophomore setter Zoe Schuele dished out 22 assists and chipped in 11 digs for a double-double. Senior libero Emma Coffey added 13 digs, anchoring the back row.

Senior Jolie Sobb and freshman Johanna Tester combined for 12 kills, but the Lourdes attack was limited by the Racers' consistent defense. Sophomore Mia Karl finished with four kills and a block assist.

With the loss, Lourdes moves to 4-2 on the season and 0-1 in WHAC play. The Gray Wolves return home Friday to host Defiance inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
