Box Score Lourdes University fought back from a two-set deficit but ultimately dropped a five-set battle to Defiance College (25-22, 25-14, 20-25, 21-25, 15-12) Friday night inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

Freshman Johanna Tester and senior Rachel Allison each tallied 14 kills, while senior Jolie Sobb added 13 as the Gray Wolves mounted a comeback in sets three and four. Setter Zoe Schuele kept the offense balanced with 45 assists and added three service aces.

Lourdes used strong serving runs by Sobb and Teliya Cole to flip momentum and extend the match. In the deciding set, Lourdes pulled even behind kills from Tester and Allison, but Defiance closed the frame with timely points at the net to seal the win.

Defensively, senior Emma Coffey collected 16 digs, while sophomore Mia Karl added key blocks in the middle.

The loss drops Lourdes to 4-3 overall. The Gray Wolves head to Chicago on Saturday for a non-conference matchup at Saint Xavier.
