Lourdes University closed out play at the Liz Lykowski Memorial Tournament with an efficient offensive performance, defeating Indiana Northwest 25-15, 21-25, 25-6, 25-20 on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman outside hitter
Johanna Tester led the attack with 17 kills on a .361 hitting percentage, adding four service aces and two digs to finish with a team-best 21.5 points. Senior
Jolie Sobb followed closely with 15 kills while hitting .364 and chipped in 13 digs for a strong two-way showing. Senior
Rachel Allison was also outstanding, connecting for 12 kills on a .345 clip to go with 14 digs.
Setter
Zoe Schuele orchestrated the balanced offense with 44 assists, two aces, and 12 digs, recording her second double-double of the tournament. Defensively, senior
Arleena Willer anchored the back row with a match-high 22 digs, while
Emma Coffey added nine. At the net, sophomore
Mia Karl provided efficient production with four kills on eight swings, three aces, and two block assists.
As a team, Lourdes hit .342 with 53 kills against just 12 errors, highlighted by a blistering .577 mark in the third set when they dominated 25-6. The Gray Wolves also served tough, finishing with 12 aces, and received defensive contributions across the backcourt, tallying 73 digs in four sets.
With the win, Lourdes improves to 4-1 on the season and closes tournament play with momentum heading into WHAC competition next week.
