HAMILTON, Ohio – The Lourdes baseball team (3-5, 0-0 in WHAC) beat the Miami-Hamilton Harriers (6-3, 0-0 in USCAA) in three games in their weekend four game road series.
Lourdes head coach
Josh Bradford picked up his 100
th win at the helm of the Gray Wolves baseball program after Saturday's game one victory.
Game 1: W – 3-2
The Gray Wolves won the first game on Saturday 3-2 thanks to a three-run fifth inning. No.9-hole hitter, freshman second baseman
Jace Bloomer, went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the inning. The young Bedford High School product is leading the team in average this season, batting a crisp .400 in four games started.
Senior starting pitcher
Brenden Holland turned in one of the best performances of the weekend on the bump for Lourdes in game No. 1, throwing 5 2/3 innings with two earned runs and five strikeouts. Holland now boasts a team-best 1-0 record with the second-best E.R.A of the four Gray Wolves starters at 3.09. He is also third on the team in strikeouts with eight on the season.
Game 2: W – 9-4
The late afternoon game on Saturday saw the Lourdes offense turn in their best game of the season thus far with nine runs and 11 hits. The Gray Wolves capitalized on the three Harriers errors and came up with some timely hitting throughout the contest.
Lourdes' best inning came in the third when they put up five runs to take a 5-1 lead. Sophomore centerfielder
Drake Sekinger hit a two-RBI single in the inning. Sekinger hit 2-for-4 with three RBI's total in the game and is tied with
Landon Brown for the most RBI's on the team in total this season with five.
Complementing the Lourdes offense was once again a strong starting pitching performance by senior

Game 3: W – 5-1
The opener on Sunday was probably the most complete game played by Lourdes in the season thus far, resulting in a four-run victory. Freshman starting pitcher J.J Foti threw a six inning gem for Lourdes, only giving up one run and dusting six Harriers batters. The local St. John's Jesuit graduate is 1-1 on the season with a 3.97 E.R.A.
The game was a 2-1 pitchers duel in favor of Lourdes until the Gray Wolves tacked on three in the sixth inning. Freshman left fielder
Jay Breed hit an RBI single in the inning to give him his team-leading seventh hit of the year. The former Ottawa Hills high school star is leading the team in average in players who have started more than half of the team's games, batting .389 with an even .500 OBP%.
Game 4: L – 2-6
The lone loss in the series came in the final game on Sunday, slowing down some of Lourdes' momentum heading into their next series. Lourdes junior starting pitcher
Ayden Hall threw three untimely walks in the fourth inning, all of which were scored on a bases clearing double. M.U.H tacked on one more insurance run in the inning to go up 4-0, a deficit that Lourdes couldn't climb back from.
