The Lourdes University men's basketball team hit the road for their first official contest of the season as they took on the Cougars of Kuyper College on Monday night in Grand Rapids, MI. The Cougars defeated the Gray Wolves 60-58.
 
The Gray Wolves played tough but just was not able to get in sync on the court both offensively and defensively. The high flying attack was grounded in the transition game despite causing 19 turnovers. The Gray Wolves only managed 15 points off the turnovers. The Gray Wolves did have some positive parts of the game though as they out rebounded the Cougars 39 to 31. Lourdes would only manage 36% shooting from the field as they were 22 of 61 for the game while allowing the Cougars to 19 of 50 for 38%.
 
“We just have to continue to get better and eliminate the simple mistakes that we committed tonight. It's the first game but we will be better” said Head Coach Andre Smith after the game.
 
The Gray Wolves return to the court on Friday as they participate in the Trent Allen Memorial Tip-off Tournament in Spring Arbor, MI. They will play on Friday and Saturday. The Friday game will be against Brescia University at 6pm.
