The Lourdes University Gray Wolves fell at home on Wednesday night at the TAM-O-Shanter to fellow Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent Aquinas College 73-56.
The first half started out a bit sluggish for the Gray Wolves as they fell behind 9-1 three minutes into the half. The Gray Wolves would find a rally though as they would reel off a 12-0 run to give them a 15-11 advantage at the 10 minute mark. Aquinas would settle down though the remainder of the half and find themselves up 33-24 at the break.
Emily Orsini led the Gray Wolves in scoring at half with 7,
Jessica Durr with 6 and 3 points apiece for
Tarynn Hampton and
Precious Hands. Durr led the team with 4 first half rebounds.
The second half was a tough one for the Gray Wolves as they closed in early on Aquinas before Aquinas was able to pull ahead with a 19 point lead. The Gray Wolves would battle tough but would lose the game by 17 points/
With the loss the Gray Wolves drop to 4-6 overall and 0-2 in WHAC play. Next up for the Gray Wolves is Siena Heights on Saturday at 3pm in Adrian, MI.
