The Lourdes University women's basketball team was on the road to take on the #4 ranked Davenport University women on Wednesday night in Grand Rapids, MI. The Panthers defeated the Gray Wolves 93-54.
The Gray Wolves would fall in a hole early on and never be able to recover as they trailed 56-18 at halftime. The Gray Wolves would play harder in the second half as they managed to score 36 points and only gave up 37.
Emily Orsini would bounce back after suffering an injury a few games ago to her old self as she scored 22 points to lead the team.
Tarynn Hampton would score 15 points and
Jessica Durr would put in eight points for Lourdes.
The Panthers would be paced by six players in double figures with Abbey Hengesbach leading with 15 points.
As a team the Gray Wolves shot nearly 39% from the floor while Davenport would shoot 42%. The Panthers out rebounded Lourdes 52-43. Lourdes would commit 24 turnovers to the Panthers 13.
Lourdes drops to 4-12 overall and 0-6 in WHAC play. Next up is a home game on Saturday at 3pm in the Sylvania Tam-O-Shanter against Indiana Tech.
