The Lourdes University Men's Basketball team was on the road Saturday afternoon in Fort Wayne, IN. taking on the #25 Ranked Warriors of Indiana Tech. The Gray Wolves came away with a big victory in WHAC play 48-45.
The Gray Wolves trailed at halftime 30-25 but were able to clamp down the defense in the second half by only giving up 15 points to the Warriors. The Gray Wolves managed to score 23 and won the game by three points.
Lourdes was led in scoring by
John Willhite as accounted for 19 of the Lourdes points in the game. Center
Marcus Outlaw contributed 12 points as well as five rebounds.
“We played a hard team and were able to come up with the win. Both teams played great on the defensive end and anytime we can get a victory on the road in this conference means a lot for us” said Head Coach
Andre Smith following the victory.
The Gray Wolves did struggle from the floor shooting only 37% for the game while holding the Warriors to just 32%.
With the victory the Lourdes Gray Wolves move to 8-10 overall and 2-5 in WHAC play.
Next game for the Gray Wolves will be at Madonna University on January 11
th at 7:30pm.
