On Saturday afternoon it was Military Appreciation Day at the Sylvania Tam-O-Shanter the Lourdes University Gray Wolves women's basketball team matched up against the Warriors of Indiana Tech. The Warriors defeated the Gray Wolves 100-58.
The first half belonged to the Warriors as they amassed a 21 point halftime lead behind relentless pressure and tough Lourdes shooting. The Warriors led 51-30 at the intermission. The Gray Wolves shot 40% on 12-30 shots in the half while the Warriors finished at 53% on 21 of 40 from the field.
The Gray Wolves were led in scoring at halftime by
Emily Orsini with 10 points.
Lauren Tilden dropped eight points and
Jessica Durr along with
Tarynn Hampton each chipped in with six.
The Warriors were led at the break by two players with 11 points in Brittany Jones and Sara Didandeh.
The second half would not be much better for the Gray Wolves as they would give up another 50 points to the Warriors while only scoring 28.
The Gray Wolves shooting percentage would take a hit in the second half as they shot just 22% including on 6 of 27 shots. The Warriors would shoot 42% on 15 of 36.
The Gray Wolves were led in scoring by
Emily Orsini and
Tarynn Hampton each with 16 points. The Warriors were led by six players in double figures with Simone Russell leading with 18 points.
