Gray Wolves Finish Fifth in Final WHAC Jamboree of the Year

Lourdes University's women's golf team wrapped up the fourth Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference jamboree of the season in fifth place on Wednesday afternoon at Coyote Creek Country Club in Fort Wayne, Ind.
 
The Gray Wolves shot a team total of 370 to finish two strokes ahead of Siena Heights.  Madonna and Aquinas shared the event's title.  For the entire fall regular season, contested over five rounds, Lourdes finished in sixth place, 15 strokes behind Siena Heights.
 
“This was a much improved fall for us in the WHAC,” head coach Scott Simon stated.  “We are looking forward to the conference championship this spring.”
 
Brooke Darah (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) led Lourdes with an 85 over the 6,119-yard, par-72 course.  She finished in a tie for eighth place overall.  Heather Steiner (Tiffin, Ohio/Calvert H.S.) added an 88 for the Gray Wolves to post a tie for 14th place finish overall.
 
Roberta Craider (Brecksville, Ohio/Padua Franciscan H.S.) fired a 96 while Kallie Breyfogle (Holland, Ohio/Southview H.S.) shot 101 to round out the scoring for Lourdes.  Haley Steiner (Tiffin, Oho/Calvert H.S.) added a 102 on the afternoon while Lindsay Lehman (Bowling Green, Ohio/Otsego H.S.) carded a 107 to complete the Gray Wolves lineup.
 
Abby Hagan of Aquinas won the event individually with 76, two strokes better than Indiana Tech's Megan Garrison.
 
Lourdes will return to action on Friday afternoon as the Gray Wolves head to Howell, Mich. for a tournament at Cleary.  Play begins at 9 a.m.
