Saturday's (Nov. 24) scheduled men's basketball game between Lourdes University and Indiana Dabney University slated for Tam-o-Shanter has been cancelled and will not be made up.
Indiana Dabney contacted Lourdes on Tuesday to inform the Gray Wolves that the school is suspending their athletics program and that they will not be making the trip to Northwest Ohio.
“I was disappointed to receive the call this morning from Indiana Dabney informing me of the news,” head coach and athletics director
Andre Smith stated. “They need to do what is best for their institution though. I feel bad for the student-athletes on both ends for not having the opportunity to compete against one another.”
Lourdes (4-1, 1-0 WHAC) will take on Michigan-Dearborn on the road tonight at 7:30 p.m. and then return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 28, hosting Madonna at Tam-o-Shanter. Tip-off against the Crusaders is set for 8 p.m. at Tam-o-Shanter.
