On Saturday afternoon the Lourdes University Gray Wolves men's basketball team hit the road to take on #3 ranked Davenport Panthers. The Gray Wolves fell on the road 82-63.
The first half was a tough one defensively for the Gray Wolves as Davenport would take a lead at the intermission 43-33.
Davenport would shoot 59% from the floor on 17 of 29 shots. The Gray Wolves though went 11 of 20 from the floor for 55%.
Davenport out rebounded the Gray Wolves 12-10 and committed two less turnovers at 11-9.
John Willhite would lead the Gray Wolves in scoring in the half with 12 points, 2 rebounds and 3 steals.
The Gray Wolves would play tough in the second half but the upper class leadership proved too much as the Panthers would pull away to build a 22 point lead with just under 3 minutes to play.
The Gray Wolves were led in scoring by
Corey Harvey and
John Willhite each with 12 points.
With the loss the Gray Wolves fall to 13-12 overall and 7-7 in WHAC play.
