Tarynn Hampton Knocks down 27 points in Victory
On Monday night the Lourdes University women's basketball team hosted the Bulldogs of Wilberforce University at the Sylvania Tam-O-Shanter. The Gray Wolves were looking to put a halt to a 17 game losing streak. The Gray Wolves would win and win in style to stop the streak 88-65.

The Gray Wolves jumped out to an early advantage and would push it to a 10 point lead at 17-7 with 13 minutes to go in the first half. The Bulldogs would keep it close until the eight minute media timeout as they would close the gap to a seven point disadvantage with Lourdes leading 24-17. The Gray Wolves would take their biggest lead at 14 points in the half with 1:15 remaining.  The Gray Wolves would take a halftime advantage of 17 points after a bucket and a made free throw by Jessica Durr.

Lourdes would have two players in double figure scoring at the break with Tiffani Blackman with 13 points and Tarynn Hampton with 12. For Wilberforce they would be led by Keehna Fontes with nine points.

The Gray Wolves owned the boards in the first half collecting 38 including 13 offensive boards with 25 defensively. The Bulldogs would have 22 with 9 offensive and 13 defensively.

As a team the Gray Wolves shot only 39% but held Wilberforce to just 22%.

The second half would start out like gang busters for the Gray Wolves as they would quickly jump out on a 17-4 run to the first media timeout to lead 65-35.

The Gray Wolves would keep the dominance going at the 11:36 mark with Jessica Durr finishing off a basket while being fouled after a nifty assist from Lauren Tilden.

The Bulldogs would have some bite left though after a fiery timeout from their Head Coach Lesha Gray to close the gap to a 73-50 disadvantage with 8:38 remaining.  

Lourdes would increase their lead back to 29 points at the last media timeout with 3:53 remaining in the game.

Lourdes would come out on top 88-65.

The Gray Wolves would be led in scoring by Tarynn Hampton with 27 points including 11 of 13 from the free throw line.

Three players would end up with 13 points for the Bulldogs with Diamond Wright, De'Andra Hall  and Keeahna Fontes.

Lourdes improves to 5-21 overall.
