Lourdes scored 22 of the game's first 25 points on Wednesday evening at Tam-o-Shanter and cruised to a 67-46 victory over Michigan-Dearborn to improve to 5-1 on the season.

The Gray Wolves scored the game's first nine points and took a 22-3 lead at the 9:51 mark, and never trailed by single digits the rest of the way. Lourdes lead remained between 15 and 21 points for the remainder of the stanza and took a 33-17 lead into the locker room.

Lourdes limited Michigan-Dearborn to just 22.2% (6-of-27) shooting in the first half and outrebounded the Wolverines 26-15.

A 12-2 run midway through the second half pushed the Gray Wolves advantage to 30, 56-26, with 9:33 remaining before Michigan-Dearborn went on its only run of the game. The Wolverines answered with a12-2 run of their own to pull within 20 at the 4:33 mark, but would get no closer the rest of the way.

"All wins are good wins, especially in the conference," head coach
Andre Smith stated. "We did a better job of rebounding the ball tonight and the defensive intensity was there. We still turned the ball over too much though."

Eric Worthey (Cleveland, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian H.S.) led the way for Lourdes offensively with 16 points while
Jerome Talton (East Cleveland, Ohio/Shaw H.S.) added 12 points off of the bench.Â
Zach Steinmetz (Toledo, Ohio/Saint John's H.S.) scored 11 points and had a game-high nine rebounds while
Elvin Butler (Akron, Ohio/East H.S.) also tallied 11 points, giving the Gray Wolves four players in double figures.

Lourdes shot 51.2% from the floor for the game, including 61.1% in the second half and made 22-of-25 (88%) free throws. The Gray Wolves finished with a 38-22 rebound advantage.

Jamiel Strickland and Gage Throgmorton led Michigan-Dearborn (0-5, 0-2 WHAC) with 11 points each.

Lourdes will begin a three-game road trip on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves head to Grand Rapids, Mich. to face #10 Davenport. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
