th-ranked Lourdes 65-55 at the Schaefer Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Lourdes managed just one field goal over the first 9:30 while trailing 12-2 and was never able to recover. Indiana Tech took a 34-16 lead into the locker room as the Gray Wolves shot just 23.3% from the floor in the opening 20 minutes while the Warriors connected at a 51.9% clip.

The Gray Wolves cut into the lead to start the second half, scoring the first 10 points of the stanza to pull within eight just four minutes into the period. A layup by
Zach Steinmetz (Toledo, Ohio/Saint John's H.S.) with 13:18 remaining cut Lourdes deficit to just five, 37-32.

Indiana Tech responded with seven straight points to push the lead back to double figures. Lourdes would again close within six, 46-40, at the 7:22 mark, but could get no closer the rest of the way. The Warriors pushed the lead back to 13 to secure the win and remain tied atop the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.

Steinmetz led Lourdes with 20 points, making 10-of-16 field goals, while also grabbing nine rebounds.Â
Eric Worthey (Cleveland, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian H.S.) added 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting and the Gray Wolves shot 66.7% in the second half while trying to make its comeback.

Rontray Chavis led Indiana Tech (9-4, 6-1 WHAC) with 20 points, making 6-of-7 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the free throw line. He also grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds. Nick Lewis added 13 points for the Warriors as Indiana Tech shot 54.5% from the field on the afternoon.

Lourdes (9-3, 5-2) will have a week off before heading to the Saint Xavier Midwest Tournament which begins next Saturday afternoon in Chicago, Ill. The Gray Wolves will face #21 Saint Ambrose in the opening round beginning at 5 p.m. EST.
