Series Notes: Lourdes is 3-1 all-time against Aquinas dating back to Nov. 30, 2011.  The Gray Wolves swept the season series last year, winning 53-51 at the Stroh Center in Bowling Green  as well as posting a 58-53 victory in Grand Rapids.  The Gray Wolves are 1-1 all-time at Aquinas.  Lourdes leads the all-time series against Concordia (Mich.) 4-3 dating back to Nov. 2, 2010 after winning two of three meetings between the two schools last year.  The Cardinals won in Ann Arbor 68-63 before the Gray Wolves posted a 71-51 victory at Tam-o-Shanter.  The two sides met a third time at Tam-o-Shanter in the WHAC tournament quarterfinals with Lourdes posting a 65-55 win.  Lourdes is 2-0 all-time against Concordia at Tam-o-Shanter.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes held a seven-point lead midway through the second half on Tuesday evening, but #17 Madonna went on a 14-0 run that proved to be the difference, defeating the Gray Wolves 67-57 in Livonia, Mich.  Elvin Butler scored a game-high 31 points for the Gray Wolves, making 11-of-16 shots from the floor, including all six three-point attempts in the loss.  Bobby Naubert led the Crusaders with 29 points on 10-of-15 shooting.

Scouting Aquinas: The Saints have lost three straight games after falling 69-67 to Hope and 77-55 at Calvin last weekend in the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame Classic.  Kolin Kazen leads Aquinas averaging 13.4 points and 7.6 rebounds per game this season while Jake Bullock has added 10.4 points per night.  As a team the Saints are shooting 43.9% from the floor but just 28.7% from three-point range.

Scouting Concordia (Mich.): The Cardinals snapped a two-game losing streak last Tuesday evening with a 91-86 overtime victory at Aquinas.  Concordia hosts Indiana Tech on Wednesday night before traveling to Lourdes on Saturday.  John Schaeffer leads four Cardinals scoring in double figures with 15.4 points per game while Josh Fugate adds 11.6 points per night.  Jesse Schienke (11.3 ppg) and Makenzi Kurvits-Statum (10.9 ppg) are both scoring in double figures as well.  Joe Remstad is the team's leading rebounder, grabbing 4.8 boards per contest.

Best Start in Program History: Lourdes 6-2 start is the best eight-game start in program history.  Last year the Gray Wolves started the year out 5-3 before defeating Aquinas at home in game number nine to improve to 6-3.  The fastest Lourdes has won seven games in a season was game number 11 of the 2012-2013 season.

A Tale of Two Halves: Lourdes is outscoring people 272-193 over the opening 20 minutes thus far this season, building an average halftime lead of nearly 10 points per game.  The only game this year in which the Gray Wolves were trailing at the break was against #9 Goshen (32-31).  However, Lourdes has only outscored the opposition by a total of eight second half points, 265-257 on the year.

Defense Picks Up Where it Left Off: Lourdes played the stingiest defense of any NAIA Division II team during the 2012-2013 season, allowing just 51.3 points per contest while also leading the nation allowing the opposition to shoot just 36.8% from the floor.  Already this season the Gray Wolves rank third in the country in scoring defense, giving up just 56.3 points per night.

Lourdes Tabbed Fourth in Preseason Poll: The Gray Wolves were selected to finish in fourth place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches.  Lourdes was picked just ahead of Northwestern Ohio, and just behind Cornerstone.  Davenport was tabbed as the conference's preseason favorite for 2013-2014 after winning the conference title two straight seasons.

Captains Named: Lourdes has two captains on the roster this season.  Serving in the leadership role for 2013-2014 are Elvin Butler and Jake DuPree, both first time captains.
