Lourdes was held to just 29.6% shooting from the floor on Wednesday evening while Lawrence Tech connected at a 52% clip, as the Gray Wolves suffered a 70-47 setback to the Blue Devils at the Don Ridler Fieldhouse in Southfield, Mich.

The Gray Wolves started quickly, scoring the game's first four points in less than 30 seconds. Lawrence Tech answered with five straight of its own to take the lead, and the two schools swapped leads seven times in the first 10 minutes of the contest.

A 16-5 run by the Blue Devils put the hosts on top for good, and allowed Lawrence Tech to build a 28-18 advantage at the 3:45 mark of the opening half. The Blue Devils continued to extend the lead before break, and took a 14-point margin, 37-23, into the locker room.

 Lawrence Tech's lead grew to 19, 46-27, over the first 6:30 of the second stanza, and the Gray Wolves could not cut their deficit below 14 the rest of the way. An 11-2 run by the Blue Devils over five minutes pushed the lead to 23 with 4:32 to play, and that proved to be the final margin.

Tarynn Hampton (Saint Louis, Mo./Alton H.S.) was the only player to tally double figures for Lourdes, scoring 16 points.Â
Courtney Slepko (Seven Hills, Ohio/Normandy H.S.) added nine points off of the bench while
Lauren Tilden (Ravenna, Ohio/Ravenna H.S.) added eight points, making a pair of triples. As a team the Gray Wolves were just 4-for-22 (18.2%) from long range for the game.

Allison Bicknell led Lawrence Tech (7-8, 5-6 WHAC) with 18 points while Hali Butler and Allison Kitchen each added 10 more for the Blue Devils. Lawrence Tech was 11-of-12 (91.7%) from the free throw line in the win.

Lourdes (4-14, 2-9) moves into the second half of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon, hosting fourth-ranked Davenport at Tam-o-Shanter. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
