Series Notes: Lourdes and Mount Vernon Nazarene are meeting on the hardwood in women's basketball for the first time.

Wrapping Up Last Week: The Gray Wolves opened the season last Thursday with an 87-77 victory at home against Rochester (Mich.).  Molea Thompson tallied 22 points while Jessica Durr added 21 points and nine boards for the Gray Wolves as Lourdes shot 59.3% from the floor as a team.  Saturday afternoon Lauren Tilden tallied 24 points and Emily Orsini added 22 more as Lourdes notched an 84-74 win at Wilberforce.  The Gray Wolves concluded their slate of three games in five days on Monday night with a 70-66 overtime triumph at Cincinnati Christian.  Tilden led four Lourdes players in double figures with 16 points.

Scouting Mount Vernon Nazarene: The Cougars are opening the home portion of their schedule on Saturday against Lourdes looking for their first win of the season.  Mount Vernon Nazarene fell at Northwestern Ohio and at Shawnee State to begin the campaign.  Megan Beidelman is the only Cougar averaging in double figures, tallying 14.5 points per night.  She also leads the team grabbing seven rebounds per game, including five on the offensive end of the floor.  Mount Vernon Nazarene is shooting 41% from the floor and 81.3% from the free throw line this year.

Quite a Start to the Season: Lourdes 3-0 mark to the 2014-2015 season is the program's best start in history.  In fact, only once prior have the Gray Wolves even won their season opener, 2012-2013.  Last year Lourdes started the season 2-1 through three games before dropping their next two contests.  Prior to this season, the earliest the Gray Wolves won their third game of the year was in game number six, doing so each of the last two seasons.

Record Win Streak: Lourdes enters Saturday's contest riding a three-game winning streak, its longest such streak in school history. The Gray Wolves previous best win streak was two, which had only occurred twice in program history.  Lourdes won back-to-back contests Nov. 9-12, 2013 against Holy Cross (Ind.) and Goshen as well as back on Nov. 18-19, 2011 versus Pittsburgh-Titusville and Penn State-Greater Allegheny.

Balancing Out the Scoring: Lourdes has four players averaging in double figures through the first three games of the season.  Lauren Tilden leads the way tallying 18.0 points per night.  Molea Thompson has added 14.7 points per contest while Emily Orisini has tallied 14.0 points per game.  Jesse Fidler has dropped in 12.0 points per contest for the Gray Wolves while Jessica Durr is just shy of double figures at 9.3 points per game.  Lourdes has had four players finish in double figures in each of the three games this season.

Making Shots: Lourdes is shooting 52.3% from the floor as a team through the first three games of the season.  Six different players are connecting at a rate of 50% of better on the season, led by Molea Thompson and Emily Orsini, both of whom are shooting 60% from the field.  The Gray Wolves are also shooting 45.2% from three-point range on the year, led by Lauren Tilden's 10-for-20 (50%)  performance from beyond the arc.

Quite a Debut: Molea Thompson opened her Gray Wolf career last Thursday night with a 22-point, five-assist effort against Rochester (Mich.).  The freshman has since added games of 10 and 12 points respectively and is averaging 3.3 assists per game to go along with her 14.7 points per night.

Tilden Goes The Distance: Lauren Tilden has played all 40 minutes in two of the first three games this season for the Gray Wolves.  Against Wilberforce, the senior guard got a breather, but it lasted less than 30 seconds, giving her credit for a total of 125 minutes played this year.  She is scoring 18.0 points per game, averaging 5.3 rebounds per night, and handing out 4.0 assists per contest.

Durr Crashes the Boards: Jessica Durr has grabbed 7.3 rebounds per game thus far this season.  She had nine boards to go along with her 21 points in the opener against Rochester (Mich.) before adding 10 rebounds at Wilberforce in game two.

Playing Defense: Jesse Fidler has already registered nine steals through her first three collegiate games.    She had four swipes against both Rochester (Mich.) and at Cincinnati Christian.

Lourdes Tabbed 10th in Preseason Poll: The Gray Wolves were selected to finish in 10th place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches.  Lourdes was picked just ahead of Michigan-Dearborn, and just behind Concordia (Mich.).  Davenport was tabbed as the conference's preseason favorite for 2014-2015 after winning the conference title eight straight seasons.

Captains Named: Lourdes has two captains on the roster this season.  Serving in the leadership role for 2014-2015 are Lauren Tilden and Emily Orsini.  Tilden is a two-time team captain, having also served in that role in 2012-2013, while Orsini is in her first season as a team captain.

This and That: The Gray Wolves are 3-0 all-time in overtime contests after the win at Cincinnati Christian ... Erica Davis, Chloe Warvel, and Niki Meyer joined Molea Thompson and Jesse Fidler in making their Lourdes debuts.
