Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes wraps up the 2013-2014 regular season this week with a pair of home games, looking to secure a spot in the upcoming Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament.  The Gray Wolves will entertain Siena Heights on Wednesday at Tam-o-Shanter before hosting Aquinas on Senior Day at Owens Community College on Saturday.

On the Air: Wednesday's game against Siena Heights will be broadcast on BCSN and BCSN2 on Buckeye Cablesystem.  The game will be shown on BCSN on Thursday at 3:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. as well as on Friday at 1 p.m.  BCSN2 will carry the game on Thursday at 7:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. as well as Saturday at 3 p.m.

Head Coach Andre Smith: In his third season both on the Lourdes bench and overall as a men's collegiate head coach, Andre Smith has a 65-58 (.528) record.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.  Smith was the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2012-2013.

Series Notes: Lourdes is 5-2 all-time against Siena Heights dating back to Nov. 12, 2011 after the Saints defeated Lourdes in Adrian, Mich. earlier this year.  The Gray Wolves hold a 2-0 series edge in games played in at Tam-o-Shanter.  Lourdes is 4-1 all-time against Aquinas dating back to Nov. 30, 2011 after the Gray Wolves defeated the Saints earlier this year in Grand Rapids, Mich.  Lourdes is 2-0 in home games against Aquinas, downing the Saints last year at the Stroh Center in Bowling Green.

Earlier This Season: Lourdes committed 23 turnovers and shot just 34.1% from the floor on Feb. 6, in suffering a 54-43 loss at Siena Heights.  Jake DuPree and Ron Dukes led the way for the Gray Wolves with 14 points each while Christian Covile scored a game-high 18 points for the Saints.  Dukes lay-up with 4.1 seconds remaining on Dec. 4 gave Lourdes a 57-55 victory over Aquinas in Grand Rapids, Mich.  DuPree led the Gray Wolves with 13 points while Zach Steinmetz added 12 more.  Kolin Kazen, Jake Bullock, and Ryan Schall all scored 11 points for Aquinas.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Northwestern Ohio opened the second half with a 31-7 run over 10 minutes on Wednesday night as the Racers defeated Lourdes 64-48 at Tam-o-Shanter.  Elvin Butler scored a team-high 14 points off of the bench for the Gray Wolves.  Lourdes ended the regular season road campaign on Saturday afternoon with a 93-60 setback at fourth-ranked Cornerstone in Grand Rapids, Mich.  Ron Dukes and Eric Worthey paced the Gray Wolves with 14 points each.

Scouting Siena Heights: The Saints enter the week following a 69-68 loss at Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday afternoon, and need two wins this week to have any chance of earning a WHAC tournament berth.  Christian Covile leads Siena Heights averaging 17.0 points and 6.9 rebounds per game while Jamison Webster adds 11.2 points per night.  As a team the Saints rank eighth nationally allowing teams to shoot just 30.7% from three-point range.

Scouting Aquinas: The Saints enter the final week of the season having won two straight games following a 71-64 win at Madonna on Saturday.  Aquinas plays at Cornerstone on Wednesday before traveling to face Lourdes.  Kolin Kazen leads the Saints averaging 12.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game while Austin Semple adds 12.1 points per night.  As a team Aquinas ranks 13th nationally giving up just 67.9 points per contest.

Home Away from Home: Lourdes has to play its final "home" game of the season on Saturday at Owens Community College due to a conflict at Tam-o-Shanter.  This marks the seventh time in the four-year history of the men's basketball program the Gray Wolves have played at a site other than Tam-o-Shanter for home games, including a 92-88 overtime win over Point Park back on Dec. 11 at Adrian College.  Lourdes is 0-2 all-time at Owens, dropping a 75-66 game to Mount Vernon Nazarene in 2010 and a 75-63 decision to Cornerstone in the 2012-2013 season finale.

Thanks Seniors: Six seniors will be honored prior to Saturday's contest, which will be their final home regular season game.  Appearing for the final time at home in a Gray Wolf uniform are seniors Elvin Butler, Ron Dukes, Reginald Martin, Enique Mason, Jerome Talton, and Eric Worthey.

Looking to Secure a Tournament Berth: Heading into the regular season, Lourdes is tied for seventh and eighth place in the WHAC standings, with the top eight team earning a berth in the conference tournament.  The Gray Wolves are two games ahead of Siena Heights for ninth, so any Lourdes win or Siena Heights loss will allow the Gray Wolves to clinch a tournament berth.

Rebounding Nationally: Zach Steinmetz ranks third in the country in rebounding, grabbing 10.9 boards per contest.  He also ranks fifth in the nation on the offensive glass, pulling down 3.8 offensive caroms per game.

Captains Named: Lourdes has two captains on the roster this season.  Serving in the leadership role for 2013-2014 are Elvin Butler and Jake DuPree, both first time captains.

This and That: Lourdes four-game losing streak matches its longest in program history ... Zach Steinmetz has 14 double-doubles on the season ... Steinmetz is the only Gray Wolf to appear in all 28 games this season ... Eric Worthey and Steinmetz are tied for the team lead in field goal percentage at 52.8% ... Lourdes can finish as high as fifth place in the league standings ... the Gray Wolves rank fourth nationally allowing teams to shoot just 30.3% from three-point range against them ... Lourdes ranks fifth in the country allowing 63.1 points per game.
