Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes closes out the non-conference portion of its schedule while wrapping up the 2015 calendar year on Friday afternoon as the Gray Wolves head to the Queen City to face Cincinnati Christian, looking to sweep the season series from the Eagles.

Head Coach Karen McConnell: In her second season on the Lourdes bench Karen McConnell has a 18-54 (.250) record.  Overall as a women's collegiate head coach, McConnell has a 298-301 (.497) record in her 22nd season.  She is only the second head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes is 2-1 all-time against Cincinnati Christian in a series that dates back to Nov. 3, 2014, after defeating the Eagles earlier this season 72-55 at Tam-o-Shanter.  The Gray Wolves won the only previous meeting played in Cincinnati, 70-66 in overtime, in that first meeting between the two schools.

Earlier This Season: Lourdes opened the season with a convincing 72-55 victory over Cincinnati Christian at Tam-o-Shanter on Oct. 31, 2015.  Jesse Fidler scored 18 points and added six steals while Niki Meyer added 14 points and Andrea Hodge chipped in 13 more for the Gray Wolves.  Lourdes shot 40.5% from the floor while holding the Eagles to just a 27.9% clip.  Baylee Bennett led Cincinnati Christian with 24 points in the first meeting.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes used a 23-0 run to start the second half to break the game open on Tuesday evening on the way to a 58-32 victory over Akron Wayne in a game played at Adrian College.  The Gray Wolves forced 36 turnovers from the Warriors which led to 39 points and the Lourdes bench outscored Akron Wayne's reserves 21-0.  Lindsey Motycka led the Gray Wolves with 13 points, eight rebounds, and six steals while Jesse Fidler added 12 points and eight boards.  On Saturday, Lourdes committed 30 turnovers which led to 40 Davenport points as the eighth-ranked Panthers defeated the Gray Wolves 87-54 in Grand Rapids, Mich.  Andrea Hodge led Lourdes with 12 points in the loss.

Scouting Cincinnati Christian: The Eagles snapped a three-game losing skid on Saturday afternoon with an 88-66 victory over Wilberforce at home.  Baylee Bennett leads Cincinnati Christian in scoring, averaging 13.1 points per game.  Brianna Ruffin is the only other Eagle to average in double figures, scoring 10.0 points per night.  LeTisha Caldwell is the team's leading rebounder, grabbing 7.8 boards per contest.

Looking for a Winning Non-Conference Mark: Lourdes enters its final non-conference game of the season 3-3 in non-WHAC contests this season, and looks to accomplish a program first with a victory over Cincinnati Christian.  Lourdes finished .500 (4-4) in non-league games last season, but has yet to finish about the .500 mark in non-conference action in program history.

Today's Scoring Leader is...: Lourdes has had five different players lead the team in scoring through the team's first 13 games this year.  Jesse Fidler has led the Gray Wolves in eight different games, and leads the team overall averaging 13.3 points per contest, the lone Gray Wolf to average double figures.  Niki Meyer, Mariah DuPree, Andrea Hodge, and Lindsey Motycka have all led, or shared the team lead, in various games as well this season.

Meyer Connects from the Stripe: Niki Meyer has made 19-of-21 free throws this season (90.5%), including 15 straight free throws dating back to the second quarter of the Cornerstone contest on Nov. 14.  The sophomore is the only Gray Wolf shooting better than 68% from the charity stripe (minimum four attempts).  As a team Lourdes is shooting just 62.4% from the line.

Halftime Leads are Key: Lourdes is 4-1 this season when taking an advantage into the locker room.  However, when the game has been tied or the Gray Wolves have been behind, Lourdes has yet to win in eight attempts.

Among the Nation's Leaders: Lourdes has limited its opponents to 60.85 points per game this season, a mark that ranks 29th in NAIA Division II.  Lourdes also ranks 32nd nationally as a team averaging 10.54 steals per contest.

Fidler Among the National Leaders Individually: Jesse Fidler ranks sixth in NAIA individually with 38 steals on the season and her 2.92 thefts per night rank 17th in NAIA Division II.  Fidler also ranks 12th in the country in field goal percentage, connecting at a 57.0% clip.  In addition, the sophomore is 38th nationally grabbing 3.23 offensive rebounds per contest.

Captains Named: Lourdes has two sophomore captains on the roster this season.  Serving in the leadership role for 2015-2016 are Jesse Fidler and Niki Meyer.  The duo both had successful freshmen campaigns with the Gray Wolves.

This and That: Jesse Fidler is four points shy of 450 for her career ... Molea Thompson needs two assists to reach the 100 mark for her career ... Fidler needs one rebound to reach 250 for her career ... Fidler has more offensive rebounds (42) than defensive (29) boards this season.
