Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes will entertain Akron Wayne on Tuesday evening in a "home" game played on the campus of Adrian College.  The Gray Wolves will then begin a five-game road trip to close out the 2015 calendar year on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves travel to third-ranked Davenport.

Head Coach Andre Smith: In his sixth season both on the Lourdes bench and overall as a men's collegiate head coach, Andre Smith has a 89-77 (.536) record.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.  Smith was the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2012-2013.

Series Notes: Lourdes holds a 3-0 all-time advantage against Akron Wayne in a series that dates back to Nov. 8, 2014.  The Gray Wolves defeated the Warriors 88-62 on the road in Orrville, Ohio earlier this season on Nov. 7.  The Gray Wolves are hosting Akron Wayne at Adrian College for the second straight season after scoring a 96-38 victory last year.  Davenport holds a 7-3 all-time edge against Lourdes dating back to Jan. 4, 2012.  The Panthers and Gray Wolves split a pair of meetings last season, with each school defending their home floor.  Davenport was a 79-41 winner in Grand Rapids, Mich. on Jan. 14 before Lourdes tallied a 53-32 triumph at Tam-o-Shanter on Feb. 18.  Davenport holds a 4-1 series advantage in Grand Rapids.

Earlier This Season: Lourdes rallied from a three-point halftime deficit, scoring 55 points in the second half to defeat Akron Wayne 55-26 on Nov. 7 in Orrville, Ohio.  The Gray Wolves shot 66.7% from the floor over the final 20 minutes while holding the Warriors to just a 22.9% clip in the second half.  E.J. Blackwell led Lourdes with 23 points while Anthony Swanigan added 20 points.  Demetrius Ray came off of the bench to lead Akron Wayne with 23 points.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Indiana Tech shot 51.8% from the floor and force 16 turnovers on Wednesday evening as the Warriors defeated Lourdes 78-48 in Fort Wayne, Ind.  E.J. Scouting Akron Wayne: The Warriors entered last week's contests on the heels of  a 95-65 loss at Siena Heights on Nov. 28.  Demetrius Ray had 23 points and eight rebounds in the first meeting between the two schools while Anthony Keys added 14 points for the Warriors.

Scouting Davenport: The Panthers enter the week having won two straight games after defeating Northwestern Ohio 60-48 on the road Saturday afternoon.  Davenport travels to Taylor on Tuesday night before hosting Lourdes.  Dominez Burnett leads the Panthers, and ranks seventh in NAIA Division II, averaging 25.1 points per game while adding 7.2 rebounds per contest.  Wayne Bradford adds 13.9 points per night.  As a team Davenport ranks fifth in the country allowing just 63.9 points per game and is eighth tallying 10.8 steals per contest.

Home Away From Home: Lourdes is playing at Adrian College for the fourth straight season while Tam-o-Shanter is unavailable due to Winter Wonderland.  The Gray Wolves are a perfect 3-0 at the Merillat Sports Center thus far after defeating Akron Wayne 96-38 there last season.  In 2013, Lourdes scored a 92-88 overtime victory against Point Park while in 2012, the Gray Wolves defeated 20th-ranked Indiana Tech 57-51.

Facing Another Top-5 Team: Lourdes already faced number one Cornerstone earlier this season, falling to the Golden Eagles 63-54 in the Gray Wolves' home opener.  Lourdes will battle another top-five program on Saturday in Davenport, as the Panthers enter the week ranked third, prior to Tuesday's poll.  All-time, Lourdes is 1-9 against top-five programs, with the lone win coming against fourth-ranked Davenport 53-32 on Feb. 18, 2015.

Johnson Taking Care of the Basketball: Julian Johnson has handed out 29 assists in nine games thus far this season while committing just 10 turnovers.  The 2.9 assist-to-turnover ratio ranks the senior fifth in the WHAC in that category.

Double the Work: Zach Steinmetz and Anthony Swanigan both recorded double-doubles for the Gray Wolves in the win over Lawrence Tech.  Steinmetz tallied 11 points and 11 rebounds while Swanigan finished the game with 10 points and 10 boards.  The double-double was the third of the season for Steinmetz while Swanigan's was his first as a Gray Wolf.

Limiting Scoring Yet Again: The Gray Wolves enter the week ranked fourth in NAIA Division II allowing just 63.3 points per game this season after finishing in the top-five nationally in scoring defense each of the last four seasons.  Lourdes finished third in NAIA Division II last season surrendering just 58.7 points per game.  In 2013-2014 Lourdes was fifth (63.10), one year after leading the country in 2012-2013 allowing just 51.3 points per night.  Opponents are shooting just 40.0% from the floor against Lourdes, a mark that is 17th best in the country.
