Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes begins a stretch in which the Gray Wolves will play five of their next six games at home on Wednesday evening, hosting Madonna in conference play. The Gray Wolves take to the road on Saturday for the only away game during the stretch, heading to the Motor City to face Marygrove.

On the Air: Wednesday's game against Madonna will be broadcast live on BCSN on Buckeye Cablesystem. The game will also re air on BCSN at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. In addition, BCSN2 will show the game on Thursday at 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Head Coach Josh Gibson: In his first season on the Lourdes bench Josh Gibson has a 2-7 (.222) record. Overall as a men's collegiate head coach, Gibson has a 62-63 (.496) record in his fifth season. He is only the second head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes and Madonna have split their previous 14 meetings 7-7 dating back to Nov. 6, 2010. The Crusaders swept last year's season series, winning 78-73 at Tam-o-Shanter before posting a 73-65 victory in Livonia, Mich. The all-time series was split 3-3 in games played at Tam-o-Shanter. Lourdes leads the all-time series against Marygrove 7-3 dating back to Jan. 3, 2011. The two schools split last year's contests, with the Mustangs winning 82-79 at Tam-o-Shanter and Lourdes posting an 85-81 win in Detroit, Mich. Lourdes holds a 3-2 series edge in Detroit.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Concordia (Mich.) made 14 three-pointers, shooting 58.3% from outside of the arc, on Tuesday evening, and defeated Lourdes 84-55 in Ann Arbor, Mich. Hamish Abbott led Lourdes with 12 points while Najeeb Johnson and Desmond Frazier added 11 points each for the Gray Wolves in the loss. Jerald Booker tallied 21 points while Jalen Thompson added 19 points, making four triples, for the Cardinals.

Scouting Madonna: The Crusaders snapped a five-game losing skid on Saturday afternoon with a 72-71 WHAC victory at home against Siena Heights. Khalil Malone leads three Madonna players averaging in double figures, tallying 11.7 points per night. Austin Johnson adds 11.6 points per contest while Chris Dierker chips in 11.0 points per game. Dierker also leads the Crusaders in rebounding, pulling down 8.6 boards per contest. As a team Madonna is shooting 43.8% from the floor and 32.7% from three-point range.

Scouting Marygrove: The Mustangs enter the week having dropped six straight contests following an 84-70 setback at Davenport on Nov. 22. Marygrove heads to Indiana Tech on Wednesday before hosting Lourdes. Nate Taylor leads the Mustangs in scoring and rebounding on the year. The senior is averaging 17.7 points and 9.1 rebounds per game while also shooting 78% from the free throw line. T.K. Dixson adds 11.1 points per night for Marygrove.

A Successful New Facility: Lourdes has won both of its home games inside the new Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center this season, the only two triumphs the Gray Wolves have posted this season. Beginning on Wednesday against Madonna, Lourdes will play five of the next six games in a building which has seen the Gray Wolves' athletic program post a combined 14-1 mark in men's and women's basketball and women's volleyball since opening in September.

First Double Figure Night for Abbott: Hamish Abbott led Lourdes in scoring at Concordia (Mich.), pouring in a season-high 12 points, his highest output of the season. The effort was just his third double figure scoring game of his collegiate career, and trailed just his career-high 16 points at Akron Wayne on Nov. 7, 2015 in terms of production.

A Much Needed Break: Lourdes has had eight days off since last Tuesday's game at Concordia (Mich.). Lourdes played nine games in 25 days to start the season, seven of which have been away from home. The Gray Wolves' challenging schedule has including a pair of NAIA ranked opponents, including top-ranked Saint Francis (Ind.).

Blocked Shot Streak Ends for Thurman: Malik Thurman ranks 12th in NAIA Division II with 14 blocked shots already on the young season. His 1.56 rejections per contest are 23rd best in the country. Thurman saw his streak of having at least one swat in each game this year end last Tuesday at Concordia (Mich.) when he came up empty in the rejection department.

Free Throw Struggles: Lourdes has had a rough go of it at the charity stripe early in the 2016-2017 season, as the Gray Wolves are shooting just 58.0% from the free throw line as a team. Only once this season has Lourdes shot better than 67% from the stripe, a 70% (28-of-40) effort against Bethel (Ind.). Individually, Levert Bristol leads the way shooting 88.9% (16-for-18) from the line, and along with Kris Little (72.7%) is one of two players connecting at better than 70% for the Gray Wolves.

Lourdes Tabbed 10th in Preseason Poll: The Gray Wolves were selected to finish in 10th place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches. Lourdes was picked just ahead of Marygrove, and just behind Siena Heights. Davenport was tabbed as the conference's preseason favorite after finishing as a NAIA national semifinalist two straight seasons.

This and That: Najeeb Johnson and Levert Bristol are the only Gray Wolves to have stared all nine games this season ... Johnson, Bristol, Malike Thurman, Desmond Frazier, and Trent Bond are the only players to appear in every game ... Lourdes has scored more than 70 points just twice this season.
