Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes plays its third straight game away from home on Tuesday evening when the Gray Wolves travel to Wright State-Lake.  Lourdes returns to the Ebeid Rec Center on Saturday afternoon to host Carlow in its final tune-up before Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action begins next week.

Head Coach Josh Gibson: In his second season on the Lourdes bench Josh Gibson has a 9-23 (.281) record.  Overall as a men's collegiate head coach, Gibson has a 70-81 (.464) record in his sixth season.  He is only the second head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes and Wright State-Lake will be meeting for the first time ever in men's basketball on Tuesday evening.  The Gray Wolves will also be facing Carlow on the hardwood for the first time ever on Saturday afternoon.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes committed 24 turnovers on Friday evening and suffered its first loss of the season, 74-59, to Governors State in the Lancer Tipoff Classic.  The Gray Wolves did not have a double figure scorer in the contest, with Darriontae Stewart leading the way with nine points off the bench.  On Saturday morning, the Gray Wolves opened the second half on a 22-2 run and rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat Judson 71-57 in the final game of the Lancer Tipoff Classic.  Kadeim Jones led the way for Lourdes with 17 points and nine rebounds while Clif Snow added 14 points.  Malik Thurman also finished in double figures, scoring 13 points for the Gray Wolves.

Scouting Wright State-Lake: The Lakers are closing out a brief two-game homestand against Lourdes on Tuesday, looking to rebound from a 96-70 setback to Asbury on Saturday afternoon.  Jordan Gorman leads Wright State-Lake in scoring, averaging 14.0 points per game while handing out 5.3 assists per night.  Zakarius Milhouse adds 11.0 points and a team-high 7.3 rebounds per contest while Jake Ryan and David Swillum are averaging 10.7 and 10.0 points per game respectively.

Scouting Carlow: The Celts will be opening their 2017-2018 season on Saturday when they visit Lourdes.  Last season Carlow finished 4-26 overall and 3-14 in the River States Conference.  The Celts return four of their top five leading scorers from last season.  Charlie Scharbo led Carlow in both scoring and rebounding, tallying 17.0 points and 8.3 rebounds per contest while Jacob St. George added 11.6 points per outing.

Jones Earns All-Tournament Honors: Kadeim Jones was named to the Lancer Tipoff Classic All-Tournament Team following his weekend performance.  He averaged 9.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for the Gray Wolves in the contests against Governors State and Judson.

Looking to Match Best Start: Lourdes is looking to start the season 3-1 for the fifth time in program history.  Lourdes won three of its first four games in 2012-2013 on its way to a 5-1 start.  The Gray Wolves were also 3-1 in 2013-2014 (6-1), 2014-2015 (4-1), and 2015-2016 (3-1), but never has started 4-0.

A Near Double-Double: Kadeim Jones finished one rebound shy of his first collegiate double-double on Saturday against Judson.  The freshman scored a game-high 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds in 34 minutes of action.  Jones is second on the Gray Wolf roster in scoring through three games, tallying 11.3 points per night.

From Long Range: Nine different Gray Wolves have made at least one three-pointer already this season, led by Malik Thurman's 4-for-4 performance from beyond the arc.  Kadeim Jones has also made four triples on the year, and is shooting 44.4% from long range.  Twelve of the 14 Gray Wolves to see action thus far this year have already attempted a three-pointer.

Getting to the Glass: Lourdes has outrebounded all three of its opponents thus far this season.  Lourdes holds a 7.7 rebounding margin on the year, and has averaged 11.7 offensive caroms per night.  The Gray Wolves have turned the offensive rebounding edge into a 41-23 advantage in second chance scoring on the year.

A Balanced Effort: Despite the loss against Governors State, Lourdes spread out its scoring.  With not one of the 14 players that saw the court finishing in double figures, the Gray Wolves still had 13 of the 14 points find the scoring column.

Lourdes Tabbed 10th in Preseason Poll: The Gray Wolves were selected to finish in 10th place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches.  Lourdes was picked just ahead of Lawrence Tech  and just behind Concordia (Mich.) in the league balloting.  Cornerstone was the unanimous pick to win the WHAC in 2017-2018, and is the preseason #1 team in the nation in NAIA Division II.

This and That: Bryce McComb made his Lourdes debut against Governors State, and played in both contests at the Lancer Tipoff Classic ... every Gray Wolf who has seen the floor this season has tallied at least four points ... Desmond Frazier has scored exactly 300 points at Lourdes while Malik Thurman is at exactly 250 career points.
