Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: The penultimate week of the 2016-2017 regular season arrives for Lourdes, and with it the Gray Wolves will play their final two home games of the campaign.  Lourdes entertains Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday evening before hosting Lawrence Tech Saturday for Senior Day.

On the Air: Saturday's game against Lawrence Tech will be broadcast on BCSN2 on Buckeye Cablesystem.  The game will be tape-delayed and shown Saturday night at 10 p.m. and Sunday evening at 5 p.m.

Head Coach Josh Gibson: In his first season on the Lourdes bench Josh Gibson has a 4-21 (.160) record.  Overall as a men's collegiate head coach, Gibson has a 64-77 (.454) record in his fifth season.  He is only the second head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes and Northwestern Ohio have split their previous 14 meetings 7-7 dating back to Dec. 30, 2010.  The Racers have won seven of the last eight contests between the two schools though after posting a 92-79 victory over the Gray Wolves earlier this season on Jan. 4 in Lima, Ohio.  Lourdes went 4-2 against Northwestern Ohio in games played at Tam-o-Shanter.  Lourdes holds an 8-2 series edge against Lawrence Tech dating back to Nov. 3, 2012.  The Gray Wolves won the earlier meeting between the two schools this season 71-63 on Jan. 7 in Southfield, Mich.  Lourdes went 4-0 against the Blue Devils at Tam-o-Shanter.

Earlier This Season: In a game that saw both teams shoot above 50% from the floor, 25th-ranked Northwestern Ohio defeated Lourdes 92-79 in Lima, Ohio on Jan. 4.  Anthony Swanigan led Lourdes with 27 points on 10-of-13 shooting while Najeeb Johnson added 20 points.  Lawrence Jackson tallied 25 points and Corbin Pierce chipped in 22 more for the Racers.  Lourdes limited Lawrence Tech to just 38.5% shooting from the field on Jan. 7 and defeated the Blue Devils 71-63 in Southfield, Mich.  Johnson scored 18 points and Swanigan tallied 17 for the Gray Wolves while Erik Davenport led Lawrence Tech with 14 points and Robbie Geoghegan added 12 points.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes hung with top-ranked Cornerstone into the second half on Wednesday before the Golden Eagles pulled away for a 90-60 win in Grand Rapids, Mich.  Anthony Swanigan led the Gray Wolves with 20 points while Evan Vasquez added 13 points off of the bench.  On Saturday, 15th-ranked Davenport limited Lourdes to just 37.5% shooting and defeated the Gray Wolves 85-60 in Grand Rapids.  Najeeb Johnson tallied a team-high 20 points while Desmond Frazier added 14 more.

Scouting Northwestern Ohio: The Racers have dropped four of their last five games after suffering a 79-73 setback to Aquinas on the road Saturday afternoon.  Lawrence Jackson leads Northwestern Ohio averaging 17.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.  Sadeeq Bello adds 14.9 points per night while Corbin Pierce is chipping in 13.5 points per outing.  As a team the Racers are shooting 75.4% from the free throw line, 16th best in NAIA Division II.

Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils enter the week having dropped seven straight contests following a 76-50 setback at home against Cornerstone on Saturday.  Lawrence Tech hosts Indiana Tech on Wednesday before visiting Lourdes.  Payton DeWildt leads the Blue Devils averaging 15.5 points per game while Robbie Geoghegan has added 13.1 points per night, but has missed the last four contests.

Thanks Seniors: Lourdes will honor its senior class prior to Saturday's game with Lawrence Tech.  Daniel Steen and Anthony Swanigan have both seen the floor for the past two seasons while Levert Bristol and Najeeb Johnson have been in action just this year. KyJuan Grace was also slated to be a member of this year's senior class, but will return next year after suffering an injury in the season opener.

Still in the Postseason Hunt: Heading into the final four games of the regular season Lourdes remains in the hunt for a postseason berth, but needs to pick up some victories.  The Gray Wolves are currently three games behind Marygrove and Madonna, the two schools tied for the final berth.  Lourdes has a game remaining with Madonna though, along with seventh-place Siena Heights in the season's final week.

Making Shots: Lourdes has a trio of players shooting better than 50% from the floor this season.  Anthony Swanigan leads the way shooting at a 52.3% clip since taking the floor in December.  Levert Bristol is connecting at a 52.2% pace while Hamish Abbott has shot 50.8% from the field for the Gray Wolves.

Vasquez Matches Season High: Evan Vasquez equalled his season-high with 13 points last Wednesday at Cornerstone.  The freshman guard also tallied 13 points against Bethel (Ind.) back on Nov. 5 in just his second appearance of his collegiate career.  His three three-point field goals against the Golden Eagles mark a collegiate best.

Among Nation's Leaders: As a team, Lourdes is allowing 75.76 points per game, a mark that ranks 47th nationally among all NAIA Division II teams.  Individually, Desmond Frazier is 49th in the country registering 39 steals.

This and That: Lourdes has played nine of its 25 games thus far against teams ranked in the NAIA Division II top-25 ... Najeeb Johnson scored 20 points against Davenport on Saturday, his fourth 20+ point effort of the year ... Johnson and Levert Bristol have started all 25 games ... Anthony Swanigan is 42 points shy of 400 for his career.
