Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes closes out the 2018 calendar year with a pair of home games to conclude the non-conference portion of the schedule.  The Gray Wolves host Kent State-Tuscarawas on Friday evening before entertaining Akron Wayne on Saturday afternoon.

Head Coach Josh Gibson: In his third season on the Lourdes bench Josh Gibson has a 26-47 (.356) record.  Overall as a men's collegiate head coach, Gibson has a 87-105 (.453) record in his seventh season.  He is only the second head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: The Gray Wolves are 2-0 all-time against Kent State-Tuscarawas, in a series that began Dec. 29, 2017.  Lourdes won the first meeting between the two schools, 91-51, inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  The Gray Wolves scored a 104-61 victory earlier this season on Dec. 17 on the Golden Eagles' home floor.  Lourdes is 7-0 all-time against Akron Wayne dating back to Nov. 8, 2014.  The Gray Wolves swept a pair of meetings last season, winning 88-57 in Orrville, Ohio before downing the Warriors 102-72 at home.  Lourdes is 4-0 all-time in home games against Akron Wayne, including 2-0 inside the Ebeid Rec Center.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Brett Lauf scored 20 points and handed out eight assists as the Gray Wolves downed Michigan-Dearborn 65-63 at home on Dec. 15.  Kadeim Jones hit the game-winning three-pointer with less than 30 seconds remaining.  Bryce McComb led five players in double figures with 21 points while Jones added 20 more as Lourdes won at Kent State-Tuscarawas 104-61 on Dec. 17.  The Gray Wolves concluded play before Christmas on Dec. 19 with an exhibition game at Hillsdale, falling 84-77.

Scouting Kent State-Tuscarawas: The Golden Eagles snapped a nine-game losing skid in its final game before Christmas on Dec. 21, defeating Penn State Shenango 88-69 at home.  Gunnar Tharp leads Kent State-Tuscarawas averaging 15.7 points per game while Malik Campbell has added 11.4 points per night along with a team-leading 5.1 rebounds per contest.

Scouting Akron Wayne: The Warriors will have had 11 days off prior to visiting Lourdes after snapping a two-game losing skid on Dec. 18 with a 108-103 overtime victory at home against Siena Heights.  Ci'Andre Johnson-Lollar leads Akron Wayne averaging 19.1 points per game while Kameron Simmons adds 10.1 points per night.

Passing the Midway Point: While the calendar is still a week away from turning to 2019, Lourdes has passed the midway point of the 2018-2019 season following the exhibition game with Hillsdale.  The Gray Wolves have 13 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference games and this week's two non-conference tilts remaining during the season.

Nearing Last Year's Win Total: With its next victory, Lourdes will have already reached the win total for the entire 2017-2018 season with 10.  With two more victories, the Gray Wolves will reach 11 on the season, the most for the program since finishing 17-14 during the 2014-2015 campaign.

Non-Conference Success of Late: Heading into the final two non-conference contests of the season, Lourdes has posted a 7-1 record outside the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference in 2018-2019.  In fact, the Gray Wolves are 14-3 over the past two seasons outside of league play.

Lourdes in 2018: Heading into the final two games of the 2018 calendar year, Lourdes is 12-16 since Jan. 1.  The Gray Wolves finished last season with a 3-10 record during the 2018 portion of the schedule but has posted a 9-6 mark thus far this season.

Lots of Double Figures: In the victory over Kent State-Tuscarawas on Dec. 17, Lourdes had five players finish in double figures in the scoring column with a sixth posting double-figure rebounding totals.  Bryce McComb led the way with 21 points while Kadeim Jones added 20 points and McRay White added 13 more.  Both Brett Lauf and Deuce Martin scored 11 points in the game while Clif Snow pulled down 15 boards.

70 is a Magic Number: Lourdes is undefeated, 7-0, when holding the opposition to less that 70 points this season.  The Gray Wolves have not surrendered more than 63 points during the current three-game winning streak in the regular season.  The last time Lourdes yielded more than 63 points was a 93-78 setback at Siena Heights on Dec. 5.

Connecting from the Line: Lourdes is shooting 79.9% from the free throw line this season, having made 183 of its 226 attempts.  The Gray Wolves rank sixth in NAIA Division II from the charity stripe.  This year, the Gray Wolves have shot the same or a higher percentage than the opposition in each of the 15 games.

The 500-Point Mark: Clif Snow surpassed the 500-point mark for his career against Michigan-Dearborn, scoring 16 points in the game.  He enters the week with 513 during his first two seasons with the Gray Wolves.  Kadeim Jones is just eight points shy of the same milestone, entering play with 492 career points.

This and That: Lourdes is .500 all-time inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center with a 17-17 record ... Kadeim Jones hit the game-winning three-pointer against Michigan-Dearborn with 27.9 seconds remaining ... Bryce McComb made his first start of the season at Kent State-Tuscarawas, the ninth Gray Wolf to start a game this year.
