Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Having moved into a tie for fifth place in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference standings, Lourdes continues through the second half of league play with a pair of games this week.  The Gray Wolves travel to Rochester (Mich.) on Wednesday evening before returning home on Saturday to entertain sixth-ranked Cornerstone.

Head Coach Josh Gibson: In his third season on the Lourdes bench Josh Gibson has a 31-48 (.392) record.  Overall as a men's collegiate head coach, Gibson has a 92-106 (.465) record in his seventh season.  He is only the second head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes is looking for its first victory ever against Rochester (Mich.) having dropped the first six meetings between the two teams in a series that dates back to Jan. 22, 2011.  The Warriors won the first meeting this season against Lourdes, 82-76, on Nov. 20 inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  Rochester is 3-0 against Lourdes in Rochester Hills, Mich.  Cornerstone holds a 16-1 series edge against the Gray Wolves dating back to Dec. 10, 2011, and has won 14 straight against Lourdes.  The Golden Eagles downed the Gray Wolves 99-72 on Dec. 1 in Grand Rapids, Mich. earlier this season.  Cornerstone is 2-0 against Lourdes inside the Ebeid Rec Center.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes played a pair of overtime contests last week, splitting the outcomes.  The Gray Wolves came up two points short on Wednesday evening, falling 86-84 at Concordia (Mich.).  Brett Lauf led Lourdes with 33 points while Clif Snow added 21 for the Gray Wolves.  Saturday, the Gray Wolves bounced back with a 69-66 overtime win at Aquinas.  Kadeim Jones led Lourdes with 26 points while Snow added 25 more.

Scouting Rochester (Mich.): The Warriors have dropped three straight games after suffering an 89-75 setback to Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday afternoon.  Armand Cartwright leads Rochester averaging 17.0 points per game while Justin Nafso adds 14.2 points per night.  Kash Blackwell and Khalil Gracey are both scoring in double figures as well, averaging 14.1 and 11.9 points per night respectively.

Scouting Cornerstone: The Golden Eagles enter the week having won five of their last six games after a 68-57 victory at home against Indiana Tech on Saturday.  Cornerstone hosts Aquinas on Wednesday before visiting Lourdes.  Sam Vander Sluis leads the Golden Eagles averaging 18.4 points and 15.9 rebounds per game.  Riley Costen adds 14.6 points per night while Christian Rodriguez is scoring 13.7 points per game.  Tyler Baker chips in 10.3 points per contest.

Bonus Basketball: Last week marked the first time in program history that Lourdes played back-to-back overtime games.  The Gray Wolves fell to Concordia (Mich.) on Wednesday before rebounding to defeat Aquinas on Saturday.  Lourdes is now 1-2 on the season when playing more than 40 minutes in a game, and 3-10 in overtime contests all-time.  The three overtime games this season match a single season record.  The Gray Wolves also played three overtime tilts last year, posting the same 1-2 record.

Lauf a Scoring Machine: Brett Lauf tallied a career-high 33 points for the Gray Wolves last Wednesday at Concordia (Mich.), making 12-of-22 shots from the floor, including 6-of-14 from three-point range.  The sophomore's output was the highest scoring total for a Gray Wolf since E.J. Blackwell poured in 33 points against Marygrove on Jan. 13, 2016.

Closing in on a Winning Season: With 14 victories already under its belt, Lourdes needs just two more to assure itself of its first winning season since posting a 17-14 record in the 2014-2015 campaign.  The 14 victories this year are the most for the program since Josh Gibson took over the helm prior to the 2016-2017 season.

White Making an Impact: After missing the first 10 games of the season, McCray White has been a force inside for the Gray Wolves since he returned to the court.  The sophomore is averaging 9.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting 59.7% from the field. White has also blocked 14 shots in 11 games.  He notched a career-high with 13 rebounds Saturday at Aquinas.

70 is the Magic Number: Lourdes is 10-0 this season when allowing less than 70 points defensively.  The Gray Wolves rank 21st nationally in scoring defense, allowing 72.3 points per game on the year.

Facing Ranked Foes: Lourdes will play its fourth NAIA Division II ranked opponent of the season on Saturday when Cornerstone visits.  The Gray Wolves are 0-3 thus far this year, falling in double-overtime to #2 Indiana East, by three points at home to #16 Indiana Tech, and on the road at #9 Cornerstone.  Lourdes has dropped 24 straight to top-25 foes, and is 8-47 all-time against the top-25.  Lourdes last win against a ranked opponent was Feb. 18, 2015, a 53-32 win over #4 Davenport.

Pencil Three in the Lineup: Lourdes has had nine different players start at least one game this season, but the trio of Kadeim Jones, Clif Snow, and Brett Lauf have been mainstays, starting all 21 contests.  In fact, they are the only three players to appear in every game for the Gray Wolves this year.

This and That: The loss at Concordia (Mich.) marked the first time this season Lourdes dropped a game when leading at halftime (12-1) ... Desmond Frazier surpassed 500 career points at Lourdes at Concordia and enters the week with 503 over three seasons ... Clif Snow went over the 600-point mark last week, and has 639 in two years with the Gray Wolves.
