Lourdes (15-8, 6-7 WHAC)
Game #24: Saturday, January 26, 3 p.m. EST
at Michigan-Dearborn (8-15, 6-8 WHAC)
UMD Fieldhouse - Dearborn, Mich.

Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: After a week off, Lourdes returns to the hardwood on Saturday afternoon to begin the final third of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference slate.  The Gray Wolves head north to face the University of Michigan-Dearborn in a game that will have key implications in the final WHAC standings.

Head Coach Josh Gibson: In his third season on the Lourdes bench Josh Gibson has a 32-49 (.395) record.  Overall as a men's collegiate head coach, Gibson has a 93-107 (.465) record in his seventh season.  He is only the second head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes holds a 9-6 all-time advantage against Michigan-Dearborn in a series that dates back to Jan. 14, 2012.  The Gray Wolves won their second straight in the series early this season with a 65-63 victory over the Wolverines on Dec. 15 inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  The Wolverines are 6-1 all-time against Lourdes in Dearborn, having won five straight on their home floor inside the UMD Fieldhouse.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes picked up a road victory on Wednesday (Jan. 16) by the score of 81-71 at Rochester (Mich.) to begin the week.  Clif Snow led four players in double figures with 26 points while Kadeim Jones added 19 points and nine rebounds.  Brett Lauf and McRay White scored 15 and 12 points respectively.  On Saturday (Jan. 19), the Gray Wolves suffered a 97-95 overtime setback to sixth-ranked Cornerstone.  Snow led Lourdes with 36 points while Christian Wagenhauser chipped in 14 as a total of six Gray Wolves finished in double figures on the day.

Scouting Michigan-Dearborn: The Wolverines have dropped two of their last three games after suffering a 71-63 setback at home against Siena Heights on Wednesday night to begin their current three-game homestand.  Mafiaion Joyner leads Michigan-Dearborn averaging 13.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while Jason Gigliotti adds 12.1 points and 7.8 boards per night.  Gigliotti ranks 15th in NAIA Division II pulling down 3.2 offensive rebounds per contest.  Cody Kegley is also scoring in double figures for the Wolverines, posting 12.0 points per game.

A Battle for the WHAC Tournament: With just seven conference competition dates remaining on the calendar, the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference standings are completely bunched in the quest to qualify for the league tournament.  The top eight schools in the final standings will make the postseason event, and heading into Saturday's play five teams are separated by just one game from fifth to ninth place.  Lourdes, which currently occupies fifth place, has not qualified for the WHAC tournament since the 2014-2015 season.

Bonus Basketball: With its venture into overtime for the third time over a four-game span last Saturday against Cornerstone, Lourdes set a new single season school record for overtime contests with its fourth of the year.  The previous record was three overtime games set during the 2017-2018 season.  The Gray Wolves are 1-3 when playing more than 40 minutes this season and 3-11 all-time.

Quite a Week for Snow: Clif Snow had a monster week for the Gray Wolves against Rochester (Mich.) and Cornerstone, averaging 31 points, five rebounds, and three assists.  He began with a 26-point effort against Rochester before scoring a career-high 36 points against Cornerstone while playing all 45 minutes.  Against the Golden Eagles he was 12-of-19 from the floor, including 5-of-9 from three-point range.  For the week he shot 55.9% from the field (19-of-34), including 44.4% (8-of-18) from beyond the arc.

Lots of Contributions: While Clif Snow led the way with his 36 points against Cornerstone, Lourdes also saw a great deal of production from others.  Six players finished the game scoring in double figures, a season high.  Christian Wagenhauser scored a career-high 14 points and Deuce Martin added 12 more.  McRay White tallied 11 points while Kadeim Jones and Brett Lauf each posted 10 points on the day.

Closing in on a Winning Season: With 15 victories already under its belt, Lourdes needs just one more to assure itself of its first winning season since posting a 17-14 record in the 2014-2015 campaign.  The 15 victories this year are the most for the program since Josh Gibson took over the helm prior to the 2016-2017 season.

Taking Care of the Basketball: Lourdes committed a season-low four turnovers in the overtime contest against Cornerstone while the Golden Eagles had just five miscues themselves.  The Gray Wolves had committed fewer than 10 turnovers in four of their last six games, and nine times this season.  Lourdes is averaging just 11.9 turnovers per game while handing out 15.7 assists per night.  The Gray Wolves' 1.31 assist-to-turnover ratio is 18th best in NAIA Division II.

Among the Nation's Leaders: Brett Lauf ranks seventh in NAIA Division II handing out 5.35 assists per game.  Clif Snow is 38th in rebounding, pulling down 8.2 caroms per night and is 50th shooting 43.5% from three-point range.  Bryce McComb is 48th nationally with a 2.57 assist-to-turnover ratio.  As a team, Lourdes is 24th in the country making 10.0 three-pointers per contest.  The Gray Wolves are also 25th in both scoring defense (73.3 ppg) and free throw percentage (75.2%).

This and That: The loss to Cornerstone marked the first time this season Lourdes dropped a game when shooting better from the floor than its opponents (13-1) ... Clif Snow enters the weekend with 701 career points ... Kadeim Jones surpassed 600 points last week, and enters play Saturday with 619 over his two seasons ... McRay White is shooting 61.3% from the floor in 2018-2019.
