Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes concludes a three-game road trip this week with a pair of NAIA top-25 opponents. Â The Gray Wolves travel to 15th-ranked Taylor for a non-conference clash on Tuesday evening before heading to fourth-ranked Indiana Tech for a league game on Saturday.
Head Coach John Kenger: In his second season on the Lourdes bench,
John Kenger sports an 12-22 (.353) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. Â In his fifth season overall as a women's collegiate head coach, Kenger has a 51-76 (.402) career mark. Â He is the fourth head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Lourdes and Taylor are meeting on the hardwood for the first time in women's basketball on Tuesday evening. Â Indiana Tech holds a 15-1 all-time series edge against the Gray Wolves dating back to Jan. 7, 2012. Â The Warriors have won the last 12 meetings between the two schools after sweeping last year's games 71-40 inside the Ebeid Rec Center and 78-57 in Fort Wayne, Ind. Â Indiana Tech holds a 7-1 series edge in games played in Fort Wayne.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Indiana-South Bend turned 28 Lourdes turnovers into 36 points on Tuesday evening as the Titans defeated the Gray Wolves 83-52. Â
Baylee Baldwin led Lourdes with 13 points in the setback. Â On Saturday, Lourdes began WHAC play at Concordia (Mich.), suffering a 73-42 setback. Â
Mirandia Green paced the Gray Wolves with nine points on the evening.
Scouting Taylor: The Trojans have opened the season with five consecutive wins, including four over WHAC opponents, after defeating Indiana-Kokomo 78-61 on Saturday. Â Becca Buchs has led Taylor in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 18.8 points per game while pulling down 10.4 boards per contest. Â Abby Buchs has added 13.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per night for the Trojans.
Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors enter the week having defeated Earlham on the road 77-32 last Wednesday (Nov. 6). Â Indiana Tech hosts Grace on Tuesday evening before entertaining Lourdes. Â Alexis Hill has paced the Warriors this year, averaging 19.5 points and 13.5 rebounds while shooting 60.9% from the floor. Â DeAnn Kauffman has added 13 points for Indiana Tech.
Lourdes vs. Ranked Opponents: Lourdes is looking for its first victory against a NAIA top-25 opponent since Nov. 5, 2011 this week when the Gray Wolves play a pair of nationally-ranked foes. Â Lourdes is 1-41 all-time against ranked opponents. Â Last season, the Gray Wolves went 0-5 against teams ranked in the top-25.
Baldwin Tallies Double Figures for the First Time: Baylee Baldwin tallied double figures for the first time as a Gray Wolf last Tuesday at Indiana-South Bend when the freshman scored a team-high 13 points. Â The 13-point effort is the highest point total of any Lourdes player thus far this season.
Sharing the Wealth: Through the first five games of the season, Lourdes has had four different players lead the team in scoring. Â
Sara Semler, who finished with the highest point total against both Grace Christian and Olivet, is the only Gray Wolf to lead the team twice. Â

Taking Care of the Basketball: Sara Semler has handled the basketball well for the Gray Wolves this season. Â The junior guard leads the team with 11 assists and has a positive assist-to-turnover ratio having committed just 10 miscues. Â Semler leads Lourdes in playing time, averaging 34.4 minutes per contest.
Welcome Back Kali: Kali Hardy made her first appearance as a Gray Wolf since suffering an injury that forced her to miss the entire 2018-2019 season. Â The redshirt-sophomore stepped onto the floor Tuesday against Indiana-South Bend, her first appearance cine Feb. 17, 2018 against Rochester (Mich.). Â Hardy scored one point, grabbed three rebounds, and had an assist in six minutes of action.
Road Warriors: Lourdes will have played nearly 25% of its regular season by week's end, yet the Gray Wolves have played inside the Ebeid Rec Center. Â Lourdes will return home on Nov. 20 against Madonna, playing four of the next six games in Sylvania.
Lourdes Tabbed 8th in WHAC Preseason Poll: The Gray Wolves were selected to finish in eighth place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches. Â Lourdes was picked just behind Concordia (Mich.) and just ahead of Northwestern Ohio in the balloting. Â Indiana Tech was picked as the unanimous preseason favorite.
