Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes returns home to the Ebeid Rec Center on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves host Wright State-Lake in the final tune-up prior to league play.  Lourdes opens Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action on Saturday as the Gray Wolves take to the road to battle 23rd-ranked Indiana Tech.

Head Coach Dennis Hopson: In his first season on the Lourdes bench, Dennis Hopson is 1-2 (.333) with the Gray Wolves and as a men's collegiate head coach.  He is only the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes is 2-0 all-time against Wright State-Lake in a series that began on Nov. 7, 2017.  The Gray Wolves won the only previous meeting inside the Ebeid Rec Center last year, with a 78-64 triumph over the Lakers.  Indiana Tech leads the all-time series against Indiana Tech 13-6 dating back to Oct. 30, 2010.  The Warriors have won nine straight meetings in the series after downing the Gray Wolves three times last year.  Indiana Tech was a 79-76 winner in the Ebeid Rec Center and a 90-73 victor in Fort Wayne, Ind. during the regular season.  The Warriors also posted an 82-73 win during the WHAC tournament.  Indiana Tech holds a 7-3 series advantage in Fort Wayne.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes battled back from a 20-point second half deficit to pull even with 24th-ranked Saint Francis (Ind.) at home on Tuesday, but the Cougars pulled out a 72-70 victory.  Little Anderson led the Gray Wolves with 18 points while Clif Snow added 17 points and nine rebounds.  On Friday, Lourdes held a second half lead on sixth-ranked Mount Vernon Nazarene nearly the entire second half before the Cougars forced overtime with a three-pointer with six seconds to play.  Mount Vernon Nazarene went on to a 95-87 win.  Snow paced Lourdes with 16 points while Anderson added 14 more.

Scouting Wright State-Lake: The Lakers enter the week having won three of their last four games after defeating Southern State Community College at home on Sunday.  Wright State-Lake travels to Lake Erie on Tuesday before visiting Lourdes.

Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors snapped their four-game season-opening losing streak on Saturday, defeating Trinity International 93-67 at home.  Josh Kline leads Indiana Tech averaging 16.2 points per game while grabbing 7.8 rebounds per night.  Cory McKinney and Jeremy Davison are adding 9.4 points per contest.

Lourdes in WHAC Openers: Lourdes is 3-5 in program history in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference openers.  The Gray Wolves have dropped four straight contests to begin league play after falling 86-68 at Madonna last season.  Lourdes last victory to begin conference play came against Michigan-Dearborn on Nov. 15, 2014.  The Gray Wolves are 1-2 in WHAC openers on the road.

Egbo Registers Double-Double: Julian Egbo recorded the first double-double of his Lourdes career, and first for any Gray Wolf this season, on Friday night at Mount Vernon Nazarene.  The redshirt-junior scored 11 points while pulling down a career-high 10 rebounds in just 25 minutes of action.  Egbo was 5-of-7 shooting the basketball from the floor and also added two blocked shots.

Taking Care of the Basketball: Through three games this season, Little Anderson has handed out seven assists for the Gray Wolves while committing just one turnover.  His assist-to-turnover ratio currently ranks eighth among all NAIA Division II players.

Shooting the Ball Well: Lourdes ranks 18th in the nation in field goal percentage this season, connecting at a 51.1% clip through the season's first three games.  The Gray Wolves are a 40% three-point shooting team from beyond the arc, 25th best nationally.  Individually, Little Anderson ranks 11th in field goal percentage, shooting 66.7% from the floor.  The freshman made 8-of-9 from the floor against Saint Francis (Ind.).

A Scoring Threat: Clif Snow has paced the Lourdes offense averaging 23.0 points per game this season, a mark that is 15th best in NAIA Division II.  The junior has tallied double figures in all three games this year, scoring a minimum of 16 points in each contest.  He matched his career high with 36 points in the opener against Harris-Stowe.

Facing Ranked Foes: Lourdes are in the midst of a stretch in which the Gray Wolves are playing NAIA Division II top-25 opponents in five of seven games.  Lourdes is 8-50 all-time against nationally-ranked opponents, and is looking to snap a 27-game losing streak against such foes.  The Gray Wolves last downed a top-25 team on Feb. 18, 2015, when Lourdes defeated fourth-ranked Davenport 53-32.

Lourdes Tabbed Sixth in Preseason Poll: The Gray Wolves were selected to finish in sixth place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches.  Lourdes was picked just ahead of Michigan-Dearborn and just behind Rochester (Mich.) in the league balloting.  Madonna is the favorite to win the WHAC in 2019-2020.

Team Captains: Lourdes will have four captains for the upcoming season.  Bryce McComb, Clif Snow, and Brett Lauf join newcomer Nick Welch, a transfer from Spring Arbor, in leading the Gray Wolves.

This and That: Christian Wagenhauser made his season debut for the Gray Wolves at Mount Vernon Nazarene ... Lourdes is averaging 85.3 points per game this season.
