Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: After a week off for final exams, Lourdes returns to the hardwood for the final two regular season games of the 2019 calendar year. Â The Gray Wolves host 19th-ranked Siena Heights on Saturday in the final WHAC game for nearly a month before traveling to Spring Arbor on Monday for a non-conference tilt.
Head Coach John Kenger: In his second season on the Lourdes bench,
John Kenger sports an 14-27 (.341) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. Â In his fifth season overall as a women's collegiate head coach, Kenger has a 53-81 (.396) career mark. Â He is the fourth head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Siena Heights has won all 16 previous meetings against Lourdes in a series that began Dec. 3, 2011. Â Last year, the Saints posted a 73-48 win in Adrian, Mich. before downing the Gray Wolves 62-47 inside the Ebeid Rec Center. Â Siena Heights is 3-0 all-time against Lourdes in the Ebeid Rec Center and 8-0 in Lourdes home games. Â Spring Arbor holds a 3-0 series edge against Lourdes dating back to Nov. 8, 2011. Â The two schools have not met since Dec. 20, 2014, a 79-48 Cougars victory. Â Spring Arbor is 2-0 against the Gray Wolves at home.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes shot just 33.3% from the floor on Wednesday (Dec. 4) and fell to Michigan-Dearborn 70-57 on the road. Â

Sirena Pitts led the Gray Wolves with 14 points each. Â On Saturday, Concordia (Mich.) jumped out to a 19-point lead after the opening quarter and downed the Gray Wolves 74-54. Â

Logan Ingram each tallied 10 points to pace Lourdes in the loss.
Scouting Siena Heights: The Saints have won four consecutive games after defeating seventh-ranked Indiana Tech at home 79-75 on Saturday afternoon. Â Peyton Banks leads Siena Heights averaging 15.6 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Â Kelsey Wyman has added 12.2 points per outing, primarily off the bench, while Demi Russell is scoring 11.8 points per night. Â The Saints are holding the opposition to just 56.8 points per game this year.
Scouting Spring Arbor: The Cougars have dropped three of their last four games after falling at Mount Vernon Nazarene 65-51 last Saturday afternoon. Â Anne Marie Wright leads Spring Arbor offensively, averaging 15.5 points per game while Gracie Cabana adds 13.9 points per night. Â Teona Feldpausch has contributed 11.4 points per outing while grabbing a team-leading 10.6 rebounds per night. Â Spring Arbor is averaging 60.2 points per game as a team offensively.
Facing a Ranked Opponent: Siena Heights is the third NAIA top-25 opponent the Gray Wolves have faced during the first half of the 2019-2020 season. Â Lourdes is looking for its first victory over a ranked opponent since downing Indiana-Northwest on Nov. 5, 2011.
Closing Out the Calendar Year: Lourdes heads into the final two games of the 2019 calendar year having posted a 9-19 mark since January 1.
Pitts Notches Career High: Sirena Pitts came off the bench last Wednesday at Michigan-Dearborn to tally a career-high 14 points in 18 minutes of action. It was just the second double figure scoring game of her Lourdes career, bettering her previous career high of 10 points last season against Great Lakes Christian.
Scoring in Bunches: Logan Ingram has tallied 40 total points in her first 12 games of her collegiate career, but already has a pair of double figure scoring efforts to her resume. Â The freshman poured in 10 points last Saturday against Concordia (Mich.) after scoring 14 earlier this year at fourth-ranked Indiana Tech.
Facing a Division I Foe: Following the final two regular season games before the holidays, Lourdes will travel to Oakland on Saturday (Dec. 21) for an exhibition game. Â The game against the Golden Grizzlies will mark the second time Lourdes has ever played a NCAA Division I opponent, having fallen 101-50 at Detroit in a regular season game during the 2012-2013 season.
Shooting Well Leads to Victories: When Lourdes has shot a better percentage from the floor than its opponents this season, the Gray Wolves have won (3-0). Â When the opposition shoots better than Lourdes, the Gray Wolves have lost (0-9). Â
Helping Others: Sara Semler has accounted for one-third of the Gray Wolves assists this season, handing out 35 helpers, an average of nearly three per game. Â She has taken care of the basketball, with a 1.34 assist-to-turnover ratio, committing just 26 miscues thus far this year.
Making Free Throws: Sirena Pitts and
Baylee Baldwin have both had a great deal of success from the free throw line this season, connecting at better than 92% each. Â Pitts is 14-of-15 from the charity stripe while Baldwin has made 12 of her 13 attempts.
Lourdes Tabbed 8th in WHAC Preseason Poll: The Gray Wolves were selected to finish in eighth place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches. Â Lourdes was picked just behind Concordia (Mich.) and just ahead of Northwestern Ohio in the balloting. Â Indiana Tech was picked as the unanimous preseason favorite.

Sara Semler are the only two Gray Wolves to have started all 12 games this season ... Â the Gray Wolves are still looking for their first road victory of the year ... Lourdes is outscoring teams 179-166 in the second quarter despite being outscored overall on the year.
