Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes begins the second half of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference schedule this week as the Gray Wolves face a pair of ranked opponents.  The Gray Wolves travel to 25th-ranked Lawrence Tech on Wednesday evening before entertaining 11th-ranked Indiana Tech on Saturday afternoon.

Head Coach John Kenger: In his second season on the Lourdes bench, John Kenger sports an 15-31 (.326) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In his fifth season overall as a women's collegiate head coach, Kenger has a 54-85 (.388) career mark.  He is the fourth head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lawrence Tech is 11-3 all-time against Lourdes dating back to Nov. 17, 2012.  The Blue Devils have won eight straight against the Gray Wolves after sweeping last year's meetings 58-56 in the Ebeid Rec Center and 94-49 in Southfield, Mich.  Lawrence Tech holds a 6-1 series edge all-time in Southfield.  Indiana Tech is 16-1 all-time against Lourdes in a series that began Jan. 7, 2012.  The Warriors have won 13 consecutive games against the Gray Wolves after winning 74-51 in Fort Wayne, Ind. on Nov. 16 in the season's first meeting.  Indiana Tech is 3-0 all-time against Lourdes in the Ebeid Rec Center and 7-0 all-time in Sylvania.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes snapped a five-game losing skid on Wednesday with a 67-51 victory over Northwestern Ohio.  Sara Semler led the Gray Wolves with 13 points while Mary Liedel (12 points, 10 rebounds) and Mirandia Green (10 points, 10 rebounds) each had a double-double.  Riley Raburn scored 12 points as well.  On Saturday, the Gray Wolves dropped a 77-68 decision on the road at Rochester (Mich.).  Semler poured in 25 points while Green added 14 more for Lourdes.  Liedel also scored in double figures with 12 points.

Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils have dropped two of their last three games after suffering an 87-76 setback at 19th-ranked Siena Heights on Saturday.  Kendall Fisher leads Lawrence Tech averaging 14.5 points and 4.3 assists per game while Danielle Hanson adds 12.8 points and a team-best 8.6 rebounds per night.  Kaitlyn Smith chips in 10.0 points per contest.

Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors enter the week having won three straight games after a 77-55 win at Concordia (Mich.) on Saturday.  Indiana Tech hosts Michigan-Dearborn on Wednesday before visiting Lourdes.  DeAnn Kauffman leads the team averaging 15.5 points and 7.1 boards per game while Alexis Hill adds 13.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per night.  Emma Wolfe (12.6 ppg) and Kyra Whitaker (11.7 ppg) give the Warriors four players averaging in double figures.

Battling for a Tournament Berth: As Lourdes reaches the midway point of the WHAC schedule, the Gray Wolves are batting for their first WHAC tournament berth in program history.  Currently Lourdes is one-half game behind Northwestern Ohio for the final postseason spot, but the Gray Wolves have played one more league game.  Lourdes downed Northwestern Ohio in their first head-to-head meeting of the year.

A Flurry of Double-Doubles: After not registering a double-double in the first 13 games of the season, Lourdes had back-to-back games with multiple double-doubles.  Erica Cary and Mary Liedel opened 2020 with one each against Ohio Christian.  Last Wednesday versus Northwestern Ohio, Liedel had her second of the year with 12 points and 10 rebounds while Mirandia Green registered her first of the season and second of her career with 10 points and 10 boards.  Green's double-double was her first since Nov. 7, 2017 against Wright State-Lake.

Career Highs: Riley Raburn and Sara Semler both recorded career highs in the scoring column last week.  Raburn matched her career best with 12 points against Northwestern Ohio, a mark she originally accomplished last season on Nov. 6, 2018 against Wright State-Lake.  She also scored 12 points earlier this year against Madonna.  Semler poured in 25 points at Rochester (Mich.) on Saturday, surpassing her previous best of 17 posted earlier this season on Nov. 26  against Cornerstone.

A Consistent Double Figure Threat: When Mary Liedel took the court for the Gray Wolves for the first time against Ohio Christian on Jan. 4, Lourdes did not have a single player averaging in double figures.  Liedel has tallied at least 12 points in all three of her appearances wearing the terra cotta and black, and is averaging 13.0 points per outing.

Facing Ranked Opponents: Having already played three games against NAIA Top-25 foes this season, the Gray Wolves are poised to play two more this week, as long as both Lawrence Tech and Indiana Tech remained ranked when the new poll comes out on Wednesday.  Lourdes has not defeated a ranked opponent since Nov. 5, 2011 when the Gray Wolves posted a 79-75 win over 18th-ranked Indiana-Northwest, a span of 43 games.

From Long Range: Lourdes made 11 three-pointers in the loss to Rochester (Mich.) on Saturday, its highest output from beyond the arc this season.  The Gray Wolves made 10 triples against Grace Christian on Oct. 29.  Sara Semler drained five three-pointers against the Warriors, the most by a Gray Wolf in a single game this season.

This and That: Mirandia Green and Sara Semler are the only two Gray Wolves to have started all 17 games this season ... 12 different players have each started at least one game ... Semler surpassed 500 career points at Rochester (Mich.) and now has 504 over three years ... Lourdes is still looking for its first road win of the year, but is .500 (4-4) at home.
