Game #16: Friday, January 3, 7 p.m. EST
at Miami-Middletown (5-8)
Bennett Recreation Center - Middletown, Ohio

Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes rings in 2020 by concluding its road trip with a non-conference game at Miami-Middletown on Friday evening.  The Gray Wolves are looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak before returning to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play next month.

Head Coach Dennis Hopson: In his first season on the Lourdes bench, Dennis Hopson is 12-3 (.800) with the Gray Wolves and as a men's collegiate head coach.  He is only the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes and Miami-Middletown will be meeting on the hardwood for the first time ever Friday evening.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes broke open a five-point halftime lead with second half runs of 9-2 and 12-0 on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves scored an 84-63 victory on the road at Kent State-Tuscarawas.  Clif Snow tallied a double-double with 30 points and 10 rebounds while Mike Bruce came of the bench to add 15 points.  Nick Welch added 12 points for the Gray Wolves as Lourdes shot 55.9% from the floor in the win.

Scouting Miami-Middletown: The ThunderHawks have been idle since Dec. 17, but have dropped two of their last three games after falling 113-84 at Cincinnati-Clermont before the holidays.  Braxton Lawwill leads Miami-Middletown averaging 17.0 points per game while Austin Petry has added 10.9 points per night.  Thomas Arrington leads the ThunderHawks on the glass, pulling down 5.7 rebounds per outing.

Setting the School Record: Lourdes current nine-game winning streak marks the longest regular season winning streak in program history.  The Gray Wolves previously won eight consecutive games from Jan 23.-Feb. 13, 2013 in a season in which Lourdes won a school-record 22 games overall.

Crashing the Polls: Lourdes jumped into the NAIA Coaches' Top-25 Poll for the first time this season on Dec. 11, checking in at 14th in this week's ranking.  The ranking is the highest ever for the Gray Wolves in men's basketball, surpassing the No. 18 ranking in the Dec. 3, 2013 poll.  Lourdes is ranked for the first time since the Gray Wolves were 25th in the Dec. 10, 2013 poll.  The next poll will not be released until Jan. 15.

A Perfect Month: Lourdes went a perfect 6-0 during the month of December, and also won its exhibition game during the month that does not count in any records.  The feat marks the first time the Gray Wolves have been perfect for an entire calendar month in program history when playing more than two games in the month.

Doubling the Fun: Clif Snow notched his second double-double of the season, and 13th of his collegiate career on Saturday with a 30-point, 10-rebound performance against Kent State-Tuscarawas.  The junior also had a double-double (25 points, 11 rebounds) against 12th-ranked Cornerstone on Nov. 26.  The effort was the fifth double-double of the season by a Gray Wolf, with Julian Egbo registering the other three.

Quite a Debut: Mike Bruce made his first regular season appearance in a Lourdes uniform on Saturday at Kent State-Tuscarawas.  The junior transfer scored 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the floor and grabbed four rebounds in 20 minutes of action.

Making Shots: Clif Snow and Nick Welch combined to make 19-of-23 shots from the floor against the Golden Eagles in the win at Kent State-Tuscarawas.  Snow made his first 13 shots of the game to finish 13-of-15 while Welch connected on 6-of-8 attempts from the field.

From Long Range: Kenny Coleman, Little Anderson, and Deuce Martin have all had success shooting from long range.  Coleman has connected on 15-of-32 (46.9%) three-point attempts this year while Anderson is shooting at a 45.5% (15-of-33) clip.  Martin is also shooting 40.0% (14-of-35) from long range.

Playing Defense: Lourdes ranks fourth in the NAIA Division II in scoring defense, allowing just 65.3 points per game.  The Gray Wolves have held six of their 14 opponents to 60 points or less this season, and have not allowed more than 66 points in a game since yielding 72 to Madonna on Nov. 20.

More National Rankings: Lourdes has crashed the boards this year, holding a +8.4 rebounding margin, a mark that ranks 17th in the country.  In addition, the Gray Wolves are shooting 48.5% from the floor, 27th best in NAIA Division II.  Lourdes is _10.4 in scoring margin, 31st best nationally, while opponents are connecting at just a 42.0% clip from the floor, 33rd best.

Taking Care of the Basketball: Lourdes is averaging just 11.9 turnovers per game this season.  In five games this season the Gray Wolves have committed 10 or fewer miscues, including a season-low four in the win a Indiana Tech on Nov. 16.  Lourdes has committed more than 15 turnovers just twice this year.

Team Captains: Lourdes has four captains this season.  Bryce McComb, Clif Snow, and Brett Lauf join newcomer Nick Welch, a transfer from Spring Arbor, in leading the Gray Wolves.

This and That: Eddie Murphy made his first appearance of the season for the Gray Wolves at Kent State-Tuscarawas ... after the Miami-Middletown game, Lourdes returns to WHAC play for the next five contests ... Lourdes has opened January with a victory each of the last two years.
