Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Three road games in five days are ahead for Lourdes this week. The 13th-ranked Gray Wolves travel to No. 22 Madonna on Wednesday in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action. Lourdes then plays its final two non-conference tilts of the year, heading to Akron Wayne on Saturday and Shawnee State on Monday.
Head Coach Dennis Hopson: In his first season on the Lourdes bench,
Dennis Hopson is 15-5 (.750) with the Gray Wolves and as a men's collegiate head coach. He is only the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Madonna holds a 13-8 series advantage over Lourdes dating back to Nov. 6, 2010. The Crusaders have won the last five meetings between the two schools after defeating the Gray Wolves 72-68 at the Ebeid Rec Center in the season's first contest on Nov. 20. The series is tied 5-5 in Livonia, Mich. Lourdes is 8-0 all-time against Akron Wayne dating back to Nov. 8, 2014. The Gray Wolves won the last meeting, on Dec. 29, 2018, 104-73 in the Ebeid Rec Center. Lourdes is 2-0 all-time against the Warriors in Orrville, Ohio. Shawnee State won the only previous meeting against Lourdes, 66-46, on Nov. 21, 2016, as part of the MVNU Homecoming Classic in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes dropped its second consecutive game on Wednesday, falling at Lawrence Tech 71-64.

Deuce Martin led the way for the Gray Wolves with 10 points each. On Saturday, Lourdes rallied from 13 points down with 2:10 to play to defeat Indiana Tech 73-72 on two free throws by
Little Anderson with 0.5 seconds to play. Coleman led the Gray Wolves with 19 points while
Nick Welch added 16 more.
Scouting Madonna: The Crusaders have won nine straight games after defeating Aquinas 81-68 on Saturday afternoon. Dwight Burton leads Madonna averaging 22.9 points per game while Joshua Reynolds adds 18.6 points per night. Henry Speight chips in 15.3 points and a team-leading 7.3 rebounds per outing for the Crusaders.
Scouting Akron Wayne: The Warriors have won three straight games after defeating Miami-Hamilton 83-82 on Sunday afternoon. Akron Wayne hosts Ohio Eastern on Thursday before entertaining Lourdes.
Scouting Shawnee State: The Bears enter the week having won three straight games after defeating Pikeville 68-57 last Friday evening. Shawnee State is ranked 25th in the latest NAIA Division I poll. Kyree Elder leads the Bears averaging 17.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. Justin Johnson is adding 13.0 points per night while EJ Onu is also tallying double figures at 10.7 points.
Coleman Heats Up: Kenny Coleman matched his career-high with 19 points on Saturday in the comeback win against Indiana Tech. Coleman also scored 19 points against Siena Heights on Dec. 14. The freshman was instrumental in the Gray Wolves' comeback, scoring 11 points in the final 2:10 as Lourdes rallied from 13 down to win.
Clutch Free Throws: Little Anderson made a pair of free throws with 0.5 seconds remaining to give Lourdes the one-point win over Indiana Tech. Anderson went 6-for-6 from the charity stripe while
Kenny Coleman made all nine of his attempts in the game.
70 is the Magic Number: When Lourdes has allowed less than 70 points in a game this season, the Gray Wolves are 13-0. However, when the opponents have topped the 70-point plateau, Lourdes is just 2-5, including a 73-72 win over Indiana Tech on Saturday.
Looking to Secure a Winning Season: Lourdes needs one win to secure finishing the season .500 for the second consecutive year. The Gray Wolves last finished over .500 in consecutive years back in 2011-2012 through 2014-2015, a span of four consecutive seasons.
Highest Ranking Ever: Lourdes jumped into the NAIA Coaches' Top-25 Poll for the first time this season on Dec. 11, checking in at 14th in this week's ranking. Lourdes moved up one spot to 13th, its highest ranking in program history, in the poll released on Jan. 15.
Playing Defense: Lourdes ranks fourth in the NAIA Division II in scoring defense, allowing just 65.8 points per game. The Gray Wolves are limiting opposing offenses to just 42.0% shooting from the floor, the 26th best mark in the nation.
More National Rankings: Lourdes has crashed the boards this year, holding a +7.1 rebounding margin, a mark that ranks 23rd in the country. In addition, the Gray Wolves are shooting 47.3% from the floor, 35th best in NAIA Division II. Lourdes is +8.8 in scoring margin, 36th best nationally.
