Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes returns to Wolverine-Hoosier Conference play for the remainder of the season beginning on Wednesday as the Gray Wolves entertain Aquinas.  Lourdes returns to the road on Saturday afternoon to face Siena Heights.

On the Air: Wednesday's game against Aquinas will be broadcast live on BCSN as part of Buckeye Broadband.  The game will also re-air on Friday at 1:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. In addition, BCSN2 will show the game Thursday at 9:30 p.m., Friday at 9 a.m., and Saturday at 7 p.m.

Head Coach Dennis Hopson: In his first season on the Lourdes bench, Dennis Hopson is 17-6 (.739) with the Gray Wolves and as a men's collegiate head coach.  He is only the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes leads the series with Aquinas 9-8 dating back to Nov. 30, 2011.  The Gray Wolves won the first meeting this season 63-58 in Grand Rapids, Mich. on Nov. 23.  The Saints hold a 2-1 edge in the Ebeid Rec Center but Lourdes is 5-3 all-time against Aquinas at home.  Lourdes is 11-8 all-time against Siena Heights in a series that began Nov. 12, 2011.  The Gray Wolves won the season's first contest, 72-66, on Dec. 14 inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  All-time, Siena Heights holds a 5-4 edge in Adrian, Mich.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes rallied from a 14-point second half deficit to defeat 22nd-ranked Madonna 87-77 in overtime last Wednesday.  Kenny Coleman scored a team-high 22 points while Nick Welch tallied a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.  The Gray Wolves won their third straight game on Saturday, 76-56, at Akron Wayne.  Little Anderson poured in 23 points while Julian Egbo tallied 12 points and 11 boards.  The Gray Wolves closed out non-conference play on Monday, dropping a 79-72 decision at Shawnee State.  Coleman and Clif Snow tallied 14 points each to pace Lourdes.

Scouting Aquinas: The Saints have won two straight games after defeating Lawrence Tech 81-74 in overtime on Saturday.  Davion Benton leads Aquinas averaging 12.2 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.  Deric Murray and Jesse Hillis add 11.1 and 10.0 points per night respectively.

Scouting Siena Heights: The Saints had their four-game winning streak snapped on Saturday with a 93-77 setback at Indiana Tech.  Siena Heights hosts Madonna on Wednesday before entertaining Lourdes.  DeMarco Dickerson leads the Saints averaging 20.5 points per game.  Keith Jordan Jr. adds 17.6 points while grabbing a team-best 7.6 rebounds per contest.

An Overtime Win: Lourdes registered its first overtime victory of the season, and just fourth ever, last Wednesday at Madonna.  The Gray Wolves had not won a game which went beyond 40 minutes since Jan. 12, 2019 at Aquinas.  Prior to Wednesday, Lourdes had lost three straight overtime games and seven of its last eight.

Battling Back: Lourdes rallied from double figure deficits in back-to-back games to earn wins against Indiana Tech and at Madonna.  Against Indiana Tech on Jan. 18, the Gray Wolves trailed by 13 points with 2:10 to play before rallying to win in the final second.  At Madonna last Wednesday, Lourdes fought back from 14 points down with under 16 minutes to play to force overtime before eventually winning.

A Winning Season: Lourdes has assured itself of finishing the season .500 for the second consecutive year.  The Gray Wolves last finished over .500 in consecutive years back in 2011-2012 through 2014-2015, a span of four consecutive seasons.  Lourdes is one win shy of matching last season's 18-win campaign, and the Gray Wolves need five more triumphs to match the 2012-2013 school record of 22 victories.

Double-Doubles: Nick Welch and Julian Egbo both registered double-doubles for the Gray Wolves last week.  Welch registered his first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in the win at Madonna.  Egbo posted his team-leading fourth double-double of the year on Saturday with a 12-point, 11-board effort at Akron Wayne.

Jabbo Gets to the Glass: Samer Jabbo had just 10 rebounds all season for the Gray Wolves prior to Saturday, but grabbed 10 boards at Akron Wayne to double his season's output.

70 is the Magic Number: When Lourdes has allowed less than 70 points in a game this season, the Gray Wolves are 14-0.  However, when the opponents have topped the 70-point plateau, Lourdes is just 3-6.

Highest Ranking Ever: Lourdes jumped into the NAIA Coaches' Top-25 Poll for the first time this season on Dec. 11, checking in at 14th in this week's ranking.  Lourdes moved up one spot to 13th, its highest ranking in program history, in the poll released on Jan. 15.  The next poll will be released on Feb. 5.

Playing Defense: Lourdes ranks fifth in the NAIA Division II in scoring defense, allowing just 66.5 points per game.  The Gray Wolves are limiting opposing offenses to just 41.3% shooting from the floor, the 18th best mark in the nation.

Team Captains: Lourdes has four captains this season.  Bryce McComb, Clif Snow, and Brett Lauf join newcomer Nick Welch, a transfer from Spring Arbor, in leading the Gray Wolves.

This and That: Little Anderson is the only Gray Wolf to start all 23 games ... Julian Egbo is the only other player to appear in all 23 contests ... Kenny Coleman ranks 38th in NAIA Division II shooting 82.9% from the free throw line.
