Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Sitting atop the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference standings, Lourdes returns to league play this week with a pair of contests.  The Gray Wolves put their 10-game winning streak on the line Wednesday evening hosting Northwestern Ohio before taking to the road on Saturday afternoon to face Rochester (Mich.).

Head Coach Dennis Hopson: In his first season on the Lourdes bench, Dennis Hopson is 13-3 (.813) with the Gray Wolves and as a men's collegiate head coach.  He is only the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes holds a 10-9 series edge against Northwestern Ohio dating back to Dec. 30, 2010.  The two schools split a pair of meetings last season, with the Gray Wolves winning 79-72 in Lima, Ohio and the Racers posting a 99-90 double-overtime win in the Ebeid Rec Center.  Lourdes holds a 2-1 edge in the Ebeid Rec Center and a 6-3 all-time advantage in Sylvania.  Rochester (Mich.) is 6-1 all-time against Lourdes in a series that began Jan. 22, 2011.  The Warriors won 82-76 in the Ebeid Rec Center last season before Lourdes earned an 81-71 victory in Rochester Hills, Mich.  Rochester is 3-1 all-time against Lourdes in Rochester Hills.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes jumped out to a 24-6 lead less than eight minutes into Friday's contest at Miami-Middletown and defeated the ThunderHawks 82-63.  Clif Snow tallied 25 points while Julian Egbo added 14 more for the Gray Wolves.  The Gray Wolves shot 49.2% from the floor in the win to overcome 21 turnovers.

Scouting Northwestern Ohio: The Racers have dropped 11 of their last 12 games after falling 87-69 at Indiana Tech on Saturday.  Nathan Lessing leads Northwestern Ohio averaging 19.6 points per game while Elijah Pughsley adds 15.3 points per night.  Zach Montes has contributed 10.2 points per game while Justin Koepp leads the team pulling down 6.7 rebounds per outing.

Scouting Rochester (Mich.): The Warriors enter the week having won three straight games, and seven of their last eight overall, after downing Cornerstone 73-48 on Saturday.  Rochester visits Lawrence Tech on Wednesday before hosting Lourdes.  Armand Cartwright leads the Warriors averaging 20.7 points per game while Cap Wilson has added 15.1 points per night.  Peter Agba is scoring 13.2 points per outing while grabbing a team-leading 8.5 rebounds per contest.

A Regular Scorer: Clif Snow has tallied double figures for the Gray Wolves in 15 of the 16 games this season.  Only Michigan-Dearborn on Dec. 4 held Snow below 10, when he tallied nine points.  Snow has scored 25 or more points six times this year after pouring in 25 points on Friday at Miami-Middletown.

Shooting Well: McRay White and Julian Egbo have found a way to put the ball in the basketball down low this season.  White is connecting at a 63.4% clip from the floor this season while Egbo is shooting 59.4% from the field.  Both players are averaging more than nine points per game this season for the Gray Wolves.

Handing Out Assists: Kenny Coleman matched his career high with six assists at Miami-Middletown last Friday.  Coleman also had six helpers against Wright State-Lake and Indiana Tech earlier this year.  For the season, Coleman is averaging 3.5 assists per game and has 53 total assists while committing just 35 turnovers.

Record-Setting Win Streak: Lourdes current 10-game winning streak marks the longest regular season winning streak in program history.  The Gray Wolves previously won eight consecutive games from Jan 23.-Feb. 13, 2013 in a season in which Lourdes won a school-record 22 games overall.

Crashing the Polls: Lourdes jumped into the NAIA Coaches' Top-25 Poll for the first time this season on Dec. 11, checking in at 14th in this week's ranking.  The ranking is the highest ever for the Gray Wolves in men's basketball, surpassing the No. 18 ranking in the Dec. 3, 2013 poll.  Lourdes is ranked for the first time since the Gray Wolves were 25th in the Dec. 10, 2013 poll.  The next poll will be released Jan. 15.

Playing Defense: Lourdes ranks third in the NAIA Division II in scoring defense, allowing just 65.2 points per game.  The Gray Wolves have held six of their 15 opponents to 60 points or less this season, and have not allowed more than 66 points in a game since yielding 72 to Madonna on Nov. 20.

More National Rankings: Lourdes has crashed the boards this year, holding a +8.8 rebounding margin, a mark that ranks 12th in the country.  In addition, the Gray Wolves are shooting 48.5% from the floor, 25th best in NAIA Division II.  Lourdes is +10.9 in scoring margin, 29th best nationally, while opponents are connecting at just a 41.8% clip from the floor, 28th best.

Team Captains: Lourdes has four captains this season.  Bryce McComb, Clif Snow, and Brett Lauf join newcomer Nick Welch, a transfer from Spring Arbor, in leading the Gray Wolves.
