#23 Lourdes (20-10, 13-7 WHAC)
WHAC Quarterfinals
Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center - Sylvania, Ohio
Game #31: Wednesday, February 26, 7 p.m. EST
vs. Cornerstone (18-11, 12-8 WHAC)

Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Postseason play begins for Lourdes on Wednesday evening, and for the first time since February of 2013 the Gray Wolves will play a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament game at home.  The fourth-seeded Gray Wolves entertain fifth-seeded Cornerstone in the quarterfinal round.

On the Air: Wednesday's game against Cornerstone will be broadcast live on BCSN as part of Buckeye Broadband.  The game will also re-air on Thursday at 4 p.m.  In addition, BCSN2 will show the game Thursday at 1:30 a.m. and 9 p.m., and Saturday at 7 p.m.

Head Coach Dennis Hopson: In his first season on the Lourdes bench, Dennis Hopson is 20-10 (.667) with the Gray Wolves and as a men's collegiate head coach.  He is only the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Cornerstone leads the all-time series against Lourdes 18-2 dating back to Dec. 10, 2011, but the two schools split their regular season meetings this year.  The Gray Wolves posted a 71-59 victory on Nov. 26 in the Ebeid Rec Center before the Golden Eagles scored a 68-63 win in Grand Rapids, Mich. on Feb. 12.  Cornerstone is 3-1 against the Gray Wolves in the Ebeid Rec Center and 8-1 all-time at Lourdes.  The two teams have met twice in the WHAC tournament, with the Gray Wolves notching a quarterfinal win at Cornerstone in 2012 before the Golden Eagles won in Grand Rapids in the same round in 2015.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes led from start to finish on Wednesday evening against Lawrence Tech as the Gray Wolves scored a 78-48 victory over the Blue Devils on Senior Night.  Nick Welch led the Gray Wolves with 14 points and eight rebounds while Bryce McComb and Little Anderson added 11 points each.  The Gray Wolves closed the regular season on Saturday afternoon, falling 83-75 at Northwestern Ohio.  Clif Snow came off the bench to score 19 points while Julian Egbo had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Scouting Cornerstone: The Golden Eagles enter postseason having won four straight games after downing Concordia (Mich.) 89-67 on Saturday in the regular season finale.  Christian Rodriguez leads Cornerstone averaging 14.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game while Tyler Baker adds 13.2 points per night.  Cory Ainsworth is also scoring in double figures for the Golden Eagles, tallying 10.8 points per game.  On the glass, Kyle Hayes is pulling down a team-leading 6.0 rebounds per outing.

It Has Been Awhile: With Lourdes in year 10 as a men's basketball program, the Gray Wolves will be hosting just their second home Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament game in program history on Wednesday night.  The Gray Wolves hosted Concordia (Mich.) in quarterfinal action on Feb. 21, 2013, defeating the Cardinals 65-55 in a game that was played at Tam-o-Shanter.

All-Time in the WHAC Tournament: Lourdes is 3-5 all-time in WHAC tournament play as the Gray Wolves make their sixth overall appearance in the postseason event.  The Gray Wolves advanced to the championships game in 2012, falling to Davenport in the title tilt.  Lourdes advanced to the semifinals in 2013 while falling in the quarterfinals in 2014, 2015, and 2019.  Last year the Gray Wolves dropped an 82-73 decision at Indiana Tech.

Yet Another Double-Double: Julian Egbo tallied his team-leading fifth double-double of the season at Northwestern Ohio in the regular season finale.  The redshirt-junior scored 13 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.  As a team Lourdes has had nine double-doubles on the year, with Egbo accounting for more than half of them.

Snow Nearing 1,300: Clif Snow needs just 18 points to reach the 1,300 point mark for his career.  He is 113 points behind Zach Steinmetz's (2013-2016) career total of 1,395.

A Balanced Offensive Attack: While Clif Snow leads the Gray Wolves in scoring, averaging 15.8 points per game, Lourdes has six players tallying at least 8.1 points per night.  Seven different Gray Wolves have led the team in scoring in at least one contest this year.

Getting Defensive: Lourdes ranks fourth in the NAIA Division II in scoring defense, and leads the WHAC, allowing just 67.3 points per game.  The Gray Wolves are limiting opposing offenses to just 41.4% shooting from the floor, the 15th best mark in the nation.

Among the National Leaders: Lourdes ranks 27th in NAIA Division II with a +5.5 rebounding margin this season.  The Gray Wolves are also 41st outscoring their opponents by 6.1 points per game.

Remaining Ranked Nationally: Lourdes jumped into the NAIA Division II Coaches' Top-25 Poll for the first time this season on Dec. 11 and has remained in the rankings ever since.  Lourdes was ranked as high as 13th this season, and enters the WHAC tournament currently ranked 23rd.

Team Captains: Lourdes has four captains this season.  Bryce McComb, Clif Snow, and Brett Lauf join newcomer Nick Welch, a transfer from Spring Arbor, in leading the Gray Wolves.

This and That: Little Anderson is the only Gray Wolf to appear in all 30 games ... not one player has started every contest this season ... Kenny Coleman ranks 34th in NAIA Division II shooting 83.0% from the free throw line ... Lourdes is 9-4 at home this season and 31-24 all-time inside the Ebeid Rec Center.
